Cure for civ addiction?

Sabo10, it appears that we are on the same page (check my above post). Well, it looks like we have two members already, with millions more sure to follow. By the way, my name is Jonathan, and I am a Civ 3 addict. I haven't played Civ for 2 whole days. (However, that is about to change, as I'm preparing to tackle GOTM13 in a couple minutes.)

Hello, I'm Algonacy and I too am a civaholic...

thanks, thanks everyone. I appreciate the support. I haven't played Civ for 3 hours now and I've practically thought of nothing else since I turned it off. I'm ready to wipe England from the face of the planet and I feel no remorse. My sympathy for their puny civilization is completely gone. All I feel is revolted towards them. The sooner I rid them from the planet the sooner my fine citizens will quit yelling at me about being at war. I guess I need help, but I didn't know where else to turn. Please don't turn my computer off, I don't think I could live without it.

Algonancy, welcome to the support group! The only problem is, posting here at CFC only seems to make the desire to play even stronger! I was proud of myself last night, though; I actually went to bed when I had just resarched Military Tradition and had upgraded about 30 knights to cavalry. Hey, I'm making progress! :) Did I mention that was at 2:00 a.m......?

Hi, my name is Jolly R. and I am a CivAddict. By the grace of God, it has been six hours and ten minutes since I have played civ. I have slept for six hours and been up for 10 minutes and feel a slip coming.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the civs I can't conquer,
The courage to conquer the civs that I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

One more turn is too many and 1000 turns is not enough.

Screw it. I've got my civ playing under control. I can quit anytime. Now where am I going to find a retailer open on Thanksgiving to replace my destroyed CD?

Yet another has joined our support group. Welcome JollyRoger!
Man, you're really giving our group some free advertising. It's in your location and your title! Great! Again, I welcome you, and I enjoyed your post.

Hi,my name is Park and I'm addicted to civ3.

It's been 13 hours since I stopped playing and turned the PC over to my girlfriend. She was playing for an hour again this morning before work and I found myself hanging behind her, trying to give her advice, get her into a hopeless war so she would quit and let me play..

How sad is that? ;)

I'm addicted to Civ III too but I can't be addicted too much because I'm also addicted to... long distance running, much more than to Civ ;) Simply I can't play Civ and run at the same time.

In general: an addiction may be a cure for a different one.

Regards,

Slawomir Stachniewicz.

I do know the drill well. Been enough in denial to not belong myself, but I know of other people that have been saved from more damaging addictions than civ from such programs.
