Custom Civ Noob Question

1) Is there a way to not have to install my custom civs each time I load the game

What do you mean by that? Do you mean laoding the mod?

What I mean is, do I have to laod the mod every time I start the game? Is there a way to install it permanently?

I belive you can place them in the customassets folder in your mygames directory, then it will load those files instead of the default ones.

There is a better way: change the shortcut on your desktop / start menu. Right click on it and choose properties. You'll see the target the shortcut refers to, for example "F:\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe". Change it to "F:\Civ4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" -mod="Mods\magyar_modular" (note: magyar_modular is the name of MY mod, you should replace it with the name of your mod; the exact name of your mod is the name of your mods folder in the mods directory of Beyond the sword). This works for all versions of civ4. If you do it this way your mod will be automatically loaded. It won't take longer then load the default game.
