whenever i make my own custom rules on civ editor, i can never get to the very bottom of the screen, where in changing options on civilization-at the bottom it says like forward filename, and default color, i cannot see them... how can i move it up so i can. i have already pulled the top bar as far up as it can go

800 by 600, but whever i change it, the screen goes all funky... if that is only way to do it, i think that ill pass.

ps-i have messed with resolution before, and it took my dad like 2 days to figure out how to fix it

Umm, ok, your dad must not know how to change it then.

Change it to 1024 x 768, I know it takes a while to get used to it, but it'll work... maybe.

Ouch, you should upgrade ASAP.

Well, try 1024 x 768 then, if it isn't good, go to another resolution. Experiment with them.

im thinkin about askin my mom and dad if i can move it on to my better computer, it is more like 19" or so, but it has alot of stuff on it, and they might say no.

if i move it to a different computer, will i lose my saved games?

Yes and no. Of course, the save games are not on the CD. However, they are on your hard drive. Assuming you did the default install, they'd be in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Saves for the vanilla game, and \PTW\Saves and \Conquests\Saves for PTW or Conquests.

If you have complete, I'm not sure on the directory path for the saves, but it should be easy to find.

You just need to copy those to a flash drive or some such, and move them to the new computer.

And for the editor you'll need at least 1024x768, and it would be better to have 1280x1024, because the Custom Rules screen is just slightly bigger than 1024x768. You can deal with it, by moving the dialog box for the Custom Rules so that the title bar is as far up as you can get it.

thanks for the advice, but i just realized something... i can just open civ III and then open the editor. since my computer screen is small, when i open civ III, it automatically changes it to some higher resolution to fit all the stuff. i can just open civ III and then go open civ editor. now if i can only get my leader heads to change

Civ3 can only run at 1024x768, or higher. So if you can play Civ3, your monitor/graphics card can support at least 1024x768. It's just a matter of setting the resolution correctly.

no no, not that, i have the icons saved, but i don't have the programs to download it, and when i tried to move any picture over, it confused me what to type in the box to make it show up. No matter, i just switched some people around to best fit the person they represent
