custom game want more then 18 players

is there way to push the max players form 18 to 24 ? for custom mutil player or custom single player game ?

i was thinking maybe editing the defualt player setting i put it to 24 but the set for a custom game only allows for max of 18 so i was wondering if there was xml file to edit for the game options to setup for number of max players ?

I think the 18 player limit may be hard-coded in. (Probably for memory reasons).

there is an earth map by rhye wit all 24 civs.

They shud have lifted the cap in warlords. it was the main reason i was going to buy warlords

It's impossible to change in vanilla Civ4, but it is possible through SDK in Warlords. Rhye's 24 civ earth map has the DLL that you would need.

okay i already did a search befor i posted this i didnt find anything except for that earth mode, but ill do anthere search and if i find a post that say

"this is how you change the hard coded number of players that you can have in a custom game"

as a post on this forum then ill apolgiz to every one for creating this post. no one needs a smart ass who did not do a search on this topic him self saying that hes sure theres topic out there regarding this information. you do a search you find me information out there as a post and then post link here and ill apolgiz to you.

but posting, on a form that has a legitimate question that has to do with modding in a form based on modding, with the answear jezss maybe you should do a search is not really helping any one.


secoundly i was not intrested in that earth mode so why would i have downloaded it, and if i never downloaded it how would i know if it has a speacily DLL or not, its a sneraio I just figured its something you can edit into a map that you make.

senes im not intrested in maping maps im intrested in using custom game and having it use all 24 players not just 18 this map earth thing wouldnt been what i was looking for speacily senes it from my understanding reading, uses small erup map so theres no room to even really play in eurp.

secoundly replying, why dont you edit the DLL or theres SDK is not an answear.
no one likes a smart ass, speacily ones who dont relay has any usefull information, there usally the ones who repadtly get there ass kicked in high school. no offense to any one but its annoying

so yah thanks its a DLL yah thats great and a SDK files. so what exactly dose that mean ?

u know how many DLL files there are as for SDK is that some kinda file extention or name of file well cant be name of the file, senes i did a search for SDK in civ4 folder and found nothing.

so where back to my frist question, for any one who has usefull information: - its not XML file it seems cuz i did search thro all of them and defualt players for map setting dose not work.

and senes i guess its hard coded, if its file what file is it" - finding out its hardcoded was only usefull information i got so far from above, well besides im going to download earth map i guess and see what all hyp is about that dll or what ever it is that suppoly comes with it.

or what am i looking for if any one can answear that simple question that be great.

in mean time ill investgate into earth mode and how to edit DLL files

I always presonaly wondered how, people got high ratings under there name aka im chieftain low rating well its based on how many times you post on a form.

see i only post when theres something usefull id like to know or when something usefull i can relay to someone, I dont go around posting all over the form page yah this been asked so many times or why dont u do a search.

well i did a search, for 24 player i did a search for editing max players i did a search for editing hard core player and yet agin all you say a dll why dont u tell me what god dam dll.

and its not the CVgamecoredll becuase u know what i did a search for player and for players and for max player and for max_player and its not that. cuz comes up null.

why dont u tell me what ur doing a search for. and ill tell u if ur lieing or not

saying its a DLL file is not giving an answear saying which DLL file it is and saying which needs to be changed would be correct answear.

saying that u did it and that its a DLL but not being able to provide which dll and what line u exactly change as information just makes u look like a fool

well below the DLL files that seems to have nothing to do with number of hard coeded players in the game

like i said i just did a search for worlds that had player in it and number and max_player and MAX and maxplayer

u know how u can go to edit and do a search for name

anyways theres over acording to the folder under gamecorreDLL folder there are over 2k dll files

so saying its a dll file isnt going to help much

Well, considering you couldn't even be bothered to post your initial request in the correct forum tree (let alone the correct subforum), I would guess your reading comprehension skills are somewhat lacking, not to mention your forum etiquette or your patience.

Stickied at the top of this very forum is a thread called "Installing and using the SDK". A glance at the first page in that thread will show you that only one DLL file is affected for editing purposes, the CvGameCore.dll file.

There are two different CvGameCore.dll tweaks that raise the civ cap - one made by Rhye and one by Dale. Can you search with that? You've got your answer, go grab the file and quit antagonising people.

well yet me see here yah i posted it in worng spot i actully posted it in worng spoted cuz i mised the civ4 button and hit the civ3 button my bad but so what, i wasnt sure how to remove the post so i just left it i figured more information i got better off it is.

i also posted a same thing under civ4


as for my patience i have plenty of it i just dont see point of people posting worth less ness.

i posted a question simple worth while question, in right form under right cat. customization just happend to be under 3 instead of 4 which like i said i also posted under 4

anyways, usefull iformation i looked over the DLL CvGameCoreDLL that comes with rhykes earth mode i didnt really see anything to usefull but i thought maybe i was lacking something. just missing something

so what i did was i saved the defualt as a sepeart file and i moved this on err over wrote it.

it actully pretty much did nothing

the ryhkes CvgameCoredll which i replaced the orginal with did not and i repeat did not change the hard coded defualt.

ill look into one that dale did but if its truely the the CvGameCoreDll then by replaceing file over writing the file it should have changed the custom max players in the game to higher amount.

back to topic senes rhykes CvGamecoreDll file didnt do anything ill try dans. im also going to messge Rhykes and ask, him what im missing here. in mean time ill post what i find out so that it can help someone elese in future.

u know senes forms are supose to help people by provding information.
