Preturn - Look around and change a few things. Manage to get lux tax down to 20% with just a couple entertainers.
Turn 1 (1360ad) finish military tradition - head for social darwinism (on the way to emancipation). Take and raze Uskudar. Do some fiddling to get the tomb of the unknown soldier a couple turns earlier, this WW is a pain. Trade military tradition to the Souix for steam power+17gpt, and to Siam for 880g. We have two sources of coal.
Turn 2 - Getting units set up for our next assault. Im going to upgrade a few galleons to clippers as we get the money, but I want to keep some cash in reserve just in case of a invasion.
Turn 3 - Siam demands TM and 66g, I cave. Do a little resource denial bombardment to Polynesia and they come to their senses - peace+9g+WM for us to stop. My reward is having to raise the lux tax back up to 30% in order to keep our wonders on the fast track.
Turn 4 - Captured Edrine(size one, dyes in its control with a port). I am using captured slaves for border expansions, and prize ships disbanded in new towns to rush.
Turn 5 - Nakhon Sawan (Siam) finishes Encyclopedie. Give WM+4g for one turn off of social darwinism - emancipation in 6. Switch Paramonga to tomb of the unknown soldier (in 4), Paracas to universal suffrage (in 27).
Turn 6 - Souix and Greece sign a mpp. Set up for assaults on Izmit and Bursa.
Turn 7 - Capture Bursa and Izmit.
Turn 8 - Siam is moving a cavalry in on the gunpowder isle, going to do some quick reinforcements. Attack Antalya, second cuirassier nets a leader and captures the town. They are down to two cities, one in the north on the same isle, and one on the isle two to the east of our main island (which is the new capital).
Turn 9 - Tomb finishes in Paramonga. Siam moves in and is told to leave, we'll probably see next turn if they will sneak us.
turn 10 - Siam declares with troops in our borders, takes out one of our troops but the town holds. Siam finishes Clausewitz's. Arabs finish off the last Ottoman city on their continent, down to one. Head the clipper with the force I sent up that way back. Start bombarding shoreside resources of Siam's. Luxury back down to 20%, emancipation next turn.
Post turn - Looking at the type of fighting we are going to be doing, I focused more of our unit production on marines. With most cities in the game being coastal, I think the naval bombardment/marine route will be more effective than the standard cannon/cavalry route. I still built a fair number of cavalry.
There is a galleon in Machu Picchu with a load of troops that should be sufficient to take the last of the ottoman cities, may want to upgrade to a clipper first though--nice movement boost. I have just dropped a settler off in ex-Ottoman territory on a decent spot. There is a slave there waiting to give his all to expand the new cities border. There is another colonist available in Pachacamac, may want to get that over to ottoman island to keep the Arabs from poaching a city spot, I've already blocked them once.
The leader and some elite cav's are there to board the clipper. I may have pulled too many of the cav's out of that area, if so there are some non-elites on board the clipper west of the island. I left the decision on what to do with the leader with the next player, there are small wonders to build, or we may want our first army.
Pachacamac is now our most productive city, I have been doing nothing but city improvements there.
The rest of the world is generally annoyed with us. Wouldn't be surprised if we were right back in the dog pile. Some of the lesser powers can be bought to our side, but the bigger fish won't.
Keiji is out for the rest of the week, do you want to take it Lkendter?
