You know captain, the problem with such an alliance is, that its rather unpractical. If your nation was attacked by some evil forces and you would call for Russia, the Russian army would have to travell are very looong way all the way south. And in those times it was not very easy to supply an army on such a long march. And then there is this little religious thingy.. Marching some thousend miles just to help some infidels? Nowai!

Hope that helps. Though, in all likelihood, you can just decide your government for yourself. Stalin seems to be flexible with such things... what with calling the head of every minor state and county a King, and all.

Is a Republic. but still has some very powerful families.

Grandmaster, i had been going by Wikipedia, but i wanted to know from Stalin, because it makes a big difference because in 1100 Genoa was a republic and the Doges weren't around for another century or so, and the Swabians marrying their daughter to a Genoan Common is quite an insult to the Crown of Savoy.

EDIT: Thanks Stalin that helps alot....and the Oligarchic Families aren't aournd for another century to two centuries...

well in regards to Heirs and arranged marriages. It is the son or daughter of a prestigious powerful person of Genoa. So it is still has the same value (kinda)
