I had added a line so that some of the capital cities would be more realistic such as Vienna for Austria, Stockholm for Sweden and Warsaw for Poland. Didn't realize in would blank out the names of all future cities. Here's a quick fix.

I would encourage you to try the same map only with 18 European Civs that I developed for CivGold. Of course you have to down load the CivGold mod for BTS first but I think you'll find it well worth your while. In the mean time I hope this helps.

This is a really great map and a fantastic scenario... I haven't played it out all the way, but it seemed like Poland was about a thousand times more powerful than they had any reason to be, and eventually made Russia it's vassal. It seems like it should be the other way around, shouldn't it?

There is very little competition to the East, and so I suggest either making Russia more powerful or adding another Scandinavian civilization to ensure that someone other than Poland controls Finland

Don't get me wrong, however... other than that little element of imbalance... it's an amazing scenario. I played until the Renaissance or so with a significant island-empire as the Celts... Ireland, Normandy, Iceland, and most of the islands off the coasts of Scotland and Norway. I had a great time, but it seemed silly that the Poles, who have historically been pretty consistently on the losing end of a lot of wars, were still hundreds of points ahead of their nearest competition.

And of course I don't mean that as an insult to Polish pride... They're a wonderful people and I myself am ethnically Polish, but their history as a European underdog can not be denied.

Yes, I found the same to be true. The 18 Civ version I did for CivGold includes Sweden, Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine to solve this problem.

I'll try to add the CityList line back along with a long list of cities for the transplanted Civs. The reason you were getting blank city names is that I only added a single capital city name thinking the civ would take over after that. I haven't worked on this for a while but will spend the time if people are playing it. Anything else you guys would like to see? Remember this is not a mod, I'm only editing the WBS file.

I downloaded the CIV GOLD 3.0 you suggested and I am playing the 18 CIV Earth scenario at the moment. Is the Europe scenario an 18 Civ European game with "historical" starting locations ?

Yes, though some concideration was made to game play so some capitals may not be "exactly" geographically corect. I am open to suggestions about moving starting locations or adding resources.
