Good playin' denyd. But I'll get ya. ;)

Those AGR tribes are good starters, the more important thing is finishing.

Good points, but I'm a stand-alone player, just become a PBEMer. So score still means a lot to me. I'll figure it out sooner or later.

a friendly tribe taught us philosophy, whatever that is. I'm sure our wise men will be able to put it to some use.

Without any huts I won't be meeting any friendly tribes, however this nice old gentlemen came by and has decide to stick around to help out with the Forbidden Palace (reminder SGLs cannot be used for Major Wonders).

Edit: Hawklord, you might want to check what tech you got, because I just discovered Philosophy and got a bonus tech and another old guy to play gin with the first one. (why is it when I suggest not allowing using SGL's for Great Wonders, I always get one in time to build the Pyramids :( )

Uh-oh. The game is weirding out on us. Maybe we should look into this closer.

Hawklord, did you get a free tech?

Well, that is uhm, interesting. I also finished Philosophy this turn and didn't get a free tech.

I think DenyD and I had the same plan, but it is interesting to know whether the two of you got the free tech!?! Actually all of us finished as first (at least in the same turn).

It was annoying enough to read that Hawklord popped it from a hut the same turn that I planned to finish it, but now...

Wow! That is weird. I need a free tech too!

I'm quite happy now that I sacrificed a couple of turns of growth by hiring Scientists to get Philosophy a turn early.

You guys should still be able to pop enough huts to get to Republic without researching it. Note for those unaware, the tech you are researching is the least likely one you'll get and then it goes from the highest beaker cost to the lowest beaker cost in terms of increasing the odds on what you'll get.

To clarify that statement: If you are Sumer (SCI & AGR) and start out by researching Ceremonial Burial. If you pop a hut for a tech here's what you're likely to get:
from most likely to least likely
1. Warrior Code (3)
2. Masonry (4)
2. The Wheel (4)
4. Alphabet (5)
5. Iron Working (6)
6. Ceremonial Burial (2) because you are researching it

Note: there is still a chance you'll get Ceremonial Burial, but it's about the same as a Conscript Warrior attacking an Elite Mech Infantry

Sorry guys it was Mysticism. Probably just wishful thinking.
Isn't it the one with the most beakers who gets the bonus or wonder when it is on the same turn, I seem to remember reading something of the sort a while ago.

And I only got 4 or 5 goody huts on the entire mainland, so I doubt Republic is in the works. :(

I am back finally.

I calmed down from my anger finally.

I could have researched Philosophy 4-5 turns earlier, but Code of Laws was my problem as it needs many more beakers.
