Well the good news for you is that you could probably skip the trading in this one and still be OK. Since you have two tribes, you'll have twice the research that you usually do. You already have a trading partner. As for resources, you'll be able to use warfare to obtain them if you so desire. The map should create situations where that is easily possible.

You're right, and that's partly why i joined. Thanks for creating the map!

GBNO1Fan seems to have gone down the path I had hoped he would. I was not looking for a Jaguar Warrior rush type of game and he correctly pointed out that the 2nd tribe is a built in trading partner which should mean a brisk tech pace. I was hoping for a game where conquest/domination would not be the only realistic victory condition.

So with all that said, "Release the hounds"...

You were waiting on me - sorry, got busy over the long weekend.

The save is now on its way for this game. Let me know if you have any problems - shouldn't be any, but let me know nonetheless.

I set each player to Monarch difficulty in the editor but it is still displaying Regent on the start. Please let me know if you find that you are actually playing at Regent level - I don't know what's going on and after double and tricking the settings I decided to send it anyway.

I am pretty certain it IS on "Regent" Level.

There's a way to fix this.

1) If you're using a created map, make sure that you change the default setting to Monarch from Regent
2) BEFORE you select the map you're going to use, select "Monarch" level anyway, THEN load up the map you're going to use. If you don't do this, the game seems to default to Regent level no matter what level you choose.

Do you mean change the difficulty setting in Civ3 before I start the PBEM?

I've looked for every difficulty setting in the editor and changed what I can find to Monarch.

If you'd like, I can try this new idea tomorrow as soon as I get home from work - I'm out of time tonight.

I think we might be ok anyway - Since it's all humans most of the settings won't be an issue. I'm pretty sure both Monarch & Regent get 2 content. The only other thing I can think of is the barbarian bonus and they're sedantary, so probably not an issue.

I've got no problem with playing at regent so long as we're all human players.
