So here is the situation:

I am at war with Egypt.
Egypt has a CS that they are allied with.
Another civ pops in and bribes away the CS from Egypt.
I make peace with the CS.
I then wipe out Egypts last city and knock them from the game.
A couple of turns later the Civ that Bribed the CS away from Egypt loses enough influence with them that somehow Egypt has more influence?!
CS declares war on me.
Next turn I go in and make peace with them.
Next turn I have 20 influence with them due to policy, so I bribe them and make them an Ally.

If a Civ is destroyed. Shouldn't all of their influence be lost?

In this case it appears that the Civ that bribed the CS away from Egypt, somehow was losing influence faster then they were even though they had been destroyed? (Assuming they must have been controlled by the enemies lose 10% more influence policy).

Still... very strange.

Imagine if a Civ was allied with all of the CS's in the game. I wipe out that Civ, however the next turn there is a UN Vote. That Civ could win the game even though they are currently Dead! :hammer2:

If the CS were literally allied with Egypt (dead or alive), then you would not be able to make peace with it. That you did indicates that it's a meaningless glitch.

Wow Dunk for a second there I thought you were playing the Revolutions mod for BTS. We had situations over there where the civ was dead but could reform from influence, or alive but only as invisible spies! It was quite some fun to sort it out! :crazyeye:
Cheers

Ok yes I see it as a meaningless glitch as well. Until that Civ wins a Diplomatic victory.

I know the chances of this happening are incredibly low but still...

Seems to me that once a Civ is dead all influence with a CS should be gone or discounted somehow untill or unless that Civ is liberated.

Perhaps one of that Civs CS's should even spawn into the Civ itself after that Leader flees his country and shows up there. It would be like Whak-a-mole!

This is a tricky problem to solve because the bug is in the game core only Firaxis has access to. I've been trying some workarounds... like for example, if we liberate a CS it sets all non-liberator influence to a maximum of 50 (just under ally status). I'll add a check for dead civs as well.
