Just made it so I cannot see a poster's posts. Life is too short to deal with such. Figured out how to do it and thought I'd share the method. Click on the person's name, and click 'ignore'. The person's posts vanish! First time in many years forum use that I've tried this, works like a charm.

Without naming names, have you used this worthy aspect?

We're not allowed to discuss who we have ignored, it's against forum rules. It makes sense, so that the debates don't turn into bandwagons of shaming.

I have people on ignore. I have to, because it seems a couple people from weeks ago only want to drive a person to distraction instead of communicating issues. I'm sure most, who participate in conversations, do.

Alas, if only people could ignore the death squads you support.

But hey, if a vigilante says they were most definitely a drug dealer that they killed, it shall not trouble your conscience.

On vBulletin CFC, this glorious thread happened.

On vBulliten, the ignored post wasn't completely hidden, their quotes in others' posts weren't hidden at all, etc. That thread was special. Literally over a screen of it.

Aye.

Back in 2014 I decided that it's nice to have things be nice. I turned off avatars, signatures, and muted a few repeat non-contributors. Sometimes it's just me, so I've taken a couple people off the list and really enjoy their posts now. If you post a lot, are negative, assert phoney information, don't adjust to the arguments made, and worst of all, boring, there's a small chance I'm muting you. You really gotta bring the overall vibe down, like you're driving away the posters I really like to read.

Having heinous views or being generally mean or merely some of those above traits will not get you tagged. Mad props to everyone who grows. That's one of my favorite things about CFC, that almost everyone who has been here for years has changed a lot, and almost everyone for the better, if not at least for the interesting.

So, saying death squads is bad is trolling. Such bad trolling that idiot old men need safe spaces from it.

This being an old man who would like to call millenials the pussy generation.

I am also certain that he does not have the self control to not read this post.

I doubt that last line.

Moderator Action: This thread has a lot of potential for rule-breaking and incivility (e.g. insinuating that other members are trolls or are being ignored). There's not much of an upside, and I don't see it going anywhere positive. Closed.
