Default Name glitch

In any multiplayer game I play of Civ 4, my Player Name is ALWAYS set as the default name that first comes up (my computers name), rather than the name I type in for the Player Name. I've tried changing profiles, doing single player, hosting games, and joining games, and its always the same.... but it only appears to be an issue with multi-player.

Any help with this would be welcome.

you can force the ingame alias and name etc in the civilizationIV.ini - just set it there and it should stay put
