HI!
I've played a bit of Civ III these last few months, and I'd like to delete some of my saved games. I am not looking to delete the info out of the Hall of Fame, I just don't want the games coming up as options when I choose a saved game to play.

Can anyone advise how to do this?

Use explorer to find the directory locating the save files, it will be under the directory u installed civilization and deleted sav games you do not want, if you are running vista you may not be able to see them without adjusting settings on explorer, i remember having problems but managed to get round them, but cant remember how

NUTS! That's the problem! I'm now using Vista (HATE IT!) and I cannot find the folder/directory that the saved games are in...!

If you use CAII, the file load will bring up the saves and you can right click and delete form there as well.

Pie -

I can locate the Civ III folder, but I cannot find a folder/sub-directory of Saved Games. DOes anyone know the name of the folder it would be in?
(Assuming Civ III is the General folder and there are sub folders....)

how dare you call me pie:mad:my name it I LIKE PIES!!!!!
RRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!

how would you like it if i just called you tom!!

i am finished

Personally, I like pies, too, and I gladly answer to "Tom". :D

...But if I cannot find this folder with the saved games in it, I'm not gonna like much of anything or answer to much of anything.

If you have Civ Complete, you should look in the... Conquests/Saves folder.

I get confused when I have a lot of saved games; it is just hard for me to scroll through a clump of saves that are not related to each other. As a result, I create a new folder for each set of game saves.

That doesn't directly address your question, but it can help you organize your saves.

OK, Vista is DEFINATELY the problem!
When I am choosing a saved game, I can 'arrow up' and see teh Saved Games folder.
But when I go into Eplorer or My Computer, that Folder simply ISN'T THERE!

I Like Pies...but I don't like this Problem....!!!!!!!!!!

There have been some threads in the Civ III Technical Forum discussing Vista and some of it's, umm, features. You should find your answers there.

Its the conquests folder, saves.

I am a compulsive organiser too, so I regularly clear out saves, and create new folders for each game by ruler, level and sometimes VC, e.g. "Hammurabi Monarch Culture" or "Alex Regent Space Race"

Also, I use two computers, so I am often moving my current save from one to the other via memory stick. I find it helpful to keep a shortcut to my saves right next to my game launch icon. That way I can browse the save I want, launch the game and find it straight away

ok i have just looked at the saves under vista, you have to click compatability files on top bar of explorer to see them, this will come up when you are in civilization directory
