Dedicated fans of the Cage Match,

Please feel free to refamiliarize yourself with the game as it enters its next chapter. I'll be posting an official statement sometime this weekend. I have PMed the :king: and hope to get things rolling again once we trade email addresses again.

Regards,
Donovan Zoi
President of Fanatica

GAH! The world is coming to an end!

-- RF

The day started like many an autumn day before it. The people of Strider were out preparing for the winter; raking leaves and closing out the final harvest. In the distance was the fabled city of the hills, barely visible on the horizon.

The Japanese capital of Zoi was a sight to behold, even from so far away, and it was not uncommon for even the most hard-working Greeks to take pause from their work to gaze in wonder about the goings-on in a land so different from theirs yet so close to their own.

The ever-presence of this city brought comfort to some, yet others seemed to hold an unspoken fear about the Japanese and their intentions. And that is where the day turned very different, as those fears were about to be realized. For this was the first time that the Greek citizens witnessed Samurai armies pouring out of those fabled hills and toward their general direction.

Many took to shelter once disbelief gave way to an all-too-spoken fear. The brave few that dared to watch the entire encrouchment were ultimately rewarded with the following message from the leader of the Samurai guard:

Good people of Strider! Please do not be alarmed. We have come to welcome you to the Japanese empire! May we have audience with your King?

Wow, I think someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Well, you are most certainly welcome Mr. President. My but it has been a while hasn't it? Let me look at you. Umm, well, you'll have to ask some of those sword toting guys to stand a side so I can see you. Ahh, I see you're fully clothed again. That's good.

Well, to what do I owe the honor of your visit? Shall we have a parade?

Well, to what do I owe the honor of your visit? Shall we have a parade?

A parade sounds like a splendid idea! In all honesty, my Samurai are in the twilight of their service and have not seen much battle to showcase their disciplined training and I feel that a parade route to your capital could be just the thing to lift their spirits!

While we embark on this journey of goodwill, we may be able to teach your men the way of the Samurai so they are better prepared for any future surprises. As you have seen in the past, you never know what could happen at a moments notice.

I have word that your military men in Shaitan are very concerned about the impending arrival of our party (I saw your Musketman fidgeting quite a bit while I was trying to lead my men through the alternate parade route through the fields of Strider). I can also assure you that once my men have been bested by the planned route that awaits us in Shaitan that they will be in no shape to do any harm to your esteemed capital.

Kind regards,

Donovan Zoi
President of Japan

Dear Mr. President,

Could I interest you in an alternative parade route that doesn't come quite so close to my government center? There are some nice spices down in Korea, why not forgo the parade and let your samurai see some real action down south?

Regards,
The :king:

King donsig,

Your quick deployment of your Maceman army shows that the code of the Samurai is actually thriving on the streets of Greece! It also appears that you are not interested in enduring our festivites any longer, so I guess we'll make our way back home. Please take heart that we will be just across the border if you need us.

Respectfully,
Donovan Zoi
aka The Prez

Prez:

Thanks for the parade. The marching soldiers, the bands, and the fanfare were all a nice diversion from our studies. It's back to the books now for us.

BTW, we note you still do not have spices. Why don't you build some boats and send your Samurai to Korea? We might be persuaded to launch a coordinated attack allowing us both to make relatively easy gains.

:king: donsig

I'd have to think about that one, King. You'd definitely end up with more usable cities than me. Also, I have been considering getting the Spices in trade.

In other news, Japan's Samurai Guard ceremoniously escorted out of Greece. I'm goin', I'm goin'....
