Sadly this list isn't complete but I'm hopeing someone can help me fill it up:

GNP : Not quite sure. It's always greater than the total gold production of your empire.

MFG Goods: The total number of raw hammers produced by your empire. (Ignores modifiers like Forges, Machinist shops, etc)

Crop Yield: Total amount of food produced by your cities.

Soldiers: No idea.

Land Area: (In thousands) total number of not-water squares you have in your empire.

Population: Not sure, but I believe it is a 'weighted' version of the number of points of population you have. A size 6 city is worth more than a size 5 + a size 1.

Approval rate: Add all the Happy Faces in your empire up, then divide by that same number + the number of unhappy faces. So a city with 8 Happy, and 8 Unhappy, would have a 50% approval rate.

Life Expectancy: Same as approval rate, but health vs unhealth. Represented in years instead of %.

Imports/Exports: I'm fairly certain Exports is the combined value of all foreign trade routes you have. Imports is likely then the combined value of trade routes have from your empire. (Keep in mind that an EXPORT generates YOU money, which is why this is in this order.)

Pretty sure GNP is your total Beaker / Gold / Culture production. Not sure if its just culture from commerce or all culture though.

The population of a city should be shown in the city screen and is just being added up for the total population.
I think it was calculated in civ games that way:
The first Citizen is worth 10000 Population
second Citizen is worth 20000 pop
third ... 30000 pop
fourth...40000 pop
and so on.

Try this thread. Please note it was last updated for BtS 3.02: if there were any further changes to how demographics work in BtS 3.13, it would not be reflected in the OP. Also, Kael or another member of Team FfH would have to tell us how much (if any) they have tinkered with how the basic Civ game engine handles demographics in FfH. Still, this is better than nothing.
