I found this site through digg.com, and by using this software, you can generate high-res pics of the Earth at any time of day at any part of the year, either online or you can download the desktop version. I thought it might be useful for somebody.

Yeah it's kinda like that except you can't zoom in on different areas. It generates a wide-angle view of what the earth would look like from orbit, and applies a "nighttime" layer over the parts of the earth that are facing away from the sun.
