I see you have it on Photobucket... it resizes it if the filesize is too big. Try doing a screencapture again, pasting it into Paint, and then instead of saving it as Desktop.bmp, save it as Desktop.jpg (I think Paint can save as jpg... correct me if I'm wrong)

Well, jpeg is compressed, so, depending on how much you compress it, it may appear pixellated, but I don't think it would cause much loss of color information. I think it's gif you're thinking of, where color information is lost.
