i have 4 transports loaded with modern armor, artillery, and marines. they are escorted by battleships, submarines, and 2 load aircraft carriers for the first message that the UN has been built. they will go directly to it and destroy it.

will destroying the UN stop the voting, diplomatic victory process?

You have that much power, and yet the UN hasn't been built yet? Why isn't the game over?

i guess b/c i'm still too noobey to have won it yet? i'm just tired of losing the diplomatic victory because i'm not nice enough to others. thought maybe taking outing the UN might do the trick : (. but it's cool though.

oh yeah sorry, i posted under CivRev for some reason, my mistake there.

i've turned off diplo and tech both in the past to make things easier. i'm simply playing right now with everything on to learn how to beat it under any condition. "Um," at any rate, i just asked a simple question and it was duly answered. thanks forum.

The AIs have to like someone enough to vote them winner. Someone who is eligible at that. If you plan ahead the UN is an afterthought in terms of winning/losing, although if you don't control it you might get forced into some annoying civics.

Well, it seems like it could work. You can destroy any wonder by razing the city its in, though I'm not totally sure since I've never razed the UN before, but I have other wonders :D.
