Just a note regarding native names in parts of Canada - starting in the mid 80s, towns in Nunavut and some in NWT and northern Quebec began officially changing their names from the English ones (Frobisher Bay, Eskimo Point) to Inuktitut ones (Iqaluit, Arviat). I'm not sure if this is the place to put it but I think that that should be reflected in the game - maybe just for convenience having them all do it at the same time like 1990 or 1995. I could make a list of towns that have done that which appear on the map if that would help!
It could also be conditional on civics - if so, I was thinking it would be something along the lines of:
- Not State Party or Despotism
- No legitimacy requirement
- Egalitarianism, Individualism, or Traditionalism
- No economy requirement
- No state religion (Alternatively, no state religion unless also running Tolerance. To be honest I don't think I could make a good unbiased opinion here on which is better

)
- Sovereignty, Isolationism, or Multilateralism (more like not any of the other ones in terms of reasoning)
Finally I'm not sure what should happen if the towns exist but aren't owned by Canada. My first thought was that if they are owned by a non-European civ they rename in the same way, if they are owned by a European civ they don't rename, and if they are Independent they default to the Inuktitut names even if it's too early. But I'm not sure.
