[Development Thread]CIVILIZATION 4: World of Pokiphlanon

I don't understand how that could have happened, but how do I fix it?
 
After spending a few weeks praying to every deity on wikipedia, I have decided to ACT! I copy-pasted the corrupted parts from the BUG/BtS one, and then debugged it by using Asaf's GameFont Editor to check for bugs. And yet, IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!

On a related front, here's my latest attempt to make a Nyurtzar.

What is broken in the files :confused:?
I just put them in a test mod, they work, see screenshot.

I get the normal 'Init Fonts' error. The game just stops working. No error message.

As for your sucess, I'm not sure weather to be excited or creeped out. This means that whatever's wrong is not in the Gamefont files. So where is it? Now I know even less.

It would, however, explain why Asaf's gamefont editor failed to find any problem with the file.

Does anyone have any ideas on what caused the problem?
 
Not sure what the issue could be :dunno:. It still could be in the additional BUG icons, can't test that. But the fonts in general seem to be okay.
To exclude everything else i'd first plug a debug dll (here) in the mod, and if still nothing happens i'd look further around.
 
It's not in the dll. The Debug DLL also failed. I'll ...check... the BUG Python, but quite frankly, I don't even know what to look for.
 
I got:

Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...

By the way, my computer's power supply broke down, so I'm using other computers and won't be able to mod until a new power supply comes in the mail.
 
MY COMPUTER WORKS ONCE MORE!! I may continue modding.

Any advice about weird fonts thing?
 
It seems to have something to do with the fonts, even though the gamefont files work on their own.
 
I took out all the BUG Python, which is all the BUG content (Except Text) that I know of (I didn't include BULL or, obviously, BAT).

IT STILL IS BROKEN!!
 
Haven't found the basic problem yet, it still crashes.

But some others.
First, on startup i get some XML errors, regarding TERRAIN_GRASS and FEATURE_FALLOUT. These are comming from the GlobalDefines.xml, the values are mentioned there.
You also have added a ton of leaders, but didn't add the respective ArtDefines_ entries.


I'm also not sure if empty Corp + ProjectInfos files are really valid for the game (but changing that didn't prevent the crash).

What did you do to your mod since the last working configuration?
Do you maybe have a backup of that?
 
GameInfo\CommerceInfo.
Take it out.
It seems you took the file from vanilla or WL, whatever, it doesn't contain COMMERCE_ESPIONAGE, that's why it silently crashes.

Not sure if there are any other causes for crashes, because i had to delete the majority of your mod, but this file does definitely crash it.
 
I've made a big decision. Pokiphlanon cannot be properly expressed in Civ4. And more importantly, I am not capable of making and animating fifty completely original models with a budget of exactly 0$. Therefore, I am suspending World of Pokiphlanon. :(

Anyway, I also found that a lot of the components I wanted to make couldn't be integrated with WoP.

A lot of the components from WoP, such as advanced religion, advanced buildings, and resource stockpiling, will be in iNoc, as well as some other ones.

Village Economy is out. Sorry. :(

I am not announcing what my new mod will be called yet, but it will be based on RevDCM. And yes, that was intentional.
