DG 6 Gameworld Poll 7 - Difficulty Level

This poll will be a public, multiple choice running over 7 days, identifying the dificulty level of DG6. The dificulty leve will have an impact on how hard the AI civ will be and the game length. You are free to vote for more than one option.
Winner is by simple plurality, meaning the one getting most votes.

The following options are:
Chieftain
Warlord
Regent
Monarch
Emperor
Demigod
Deity
Sid
Abstain

Personaly, I would see that we should continue with Monarch. I have many reasons ranging from personal and conserns with newbies who would join during DG.

My Personal reason is because Monarch is the highest that I have gotten up to in Civ. I feel that Emperor is a bit intimidating, especialy in DG2 (I do admit that I have gained some experiance from playing the DG in an emperor setting). But if we do go with emperor, It would also help me advance a bit in the difficulty level.

My other reason is the consern with newbies that will join sometime during DG6. Most of the newbies I have met (any former Newbies in the DG, dont take offense to this comment since I dont know nor asked about their highest difficulty level) are usualy Chieftan to Monarch players. If we move to emperor, the difficulty level would scare the Chieftan and Monarch Players away since it would be an intimidating level for them.

SO, let me see. What's *demigod* and *Sid*? Are we finally giving up on vanilla Civ? Well, I don't have Conquests and so I don't really have a basis upon which to make an intelligent choice here. Do I roll 1d8 or abstain?

CG - That's the way I used to think, but the difference with a DG, as I'm sure you know, is that each city is scrutinized and micro-managed to (hopefully) its full potential. I don't play that way as a single player (although I tell myself I do, I usually don't spend more than 2 or 3 seconds deciding). Our DGs have every aspect covered by someone, and if that person isn't doing it, someone else is monitoring them . This allows for a higher playing difficulty, although I don't think we should go above Emperor.

donsig - Don't worry about those levels. Those are for people who cheat as much as the game does.

I recommend that if we do go higher than emperor, we don't go into it half-assed, because the AI would annihilate us in the first 5 turns.

Agree, especialy in deity, the AI has a huge (even huger in C3C) advantage in Deity and Sid.
