DG PBEM Casual Tournament - The Map and other settings

Top two from each board advancing is fine with me. Oh, BTW, I'm still in.

You're most welcome! Glad I could do this. Although, you might want to wait until you see the map, first. You may be cursing my name after you push the fog back a little!

Hopefully once you all get into it a bit you can send me some feedback on how I did. I'd love to know what you liked or didn't like about the map.

before we start can we have a last recap of any rules we agreed to and could we list the settings.

Settings are everybody plays as Genghis Khan, monarch difficulty. Map is a standard sized, custom generated "Sirian MTDG style" map. Everybody has all strategic resources and a monopoly on at least 1 happiness resource.

The speed is set to quick. The starting era is ancient. All victory conditions are enabled. None of the other options were checked.

Got the pm. I'm not sure I can commit to one turn a day though since I have lacrosse season now. I thought this would of started up a lot earlier. So I don't think I can really be in. Again really sorry.

Well, this is supposed to be a casual tourney so I'm not sure we need a once per day commitment. What do the other plays think?

Well, it doesn't have to be 1 day turn-around, but that would be nice.
Maybe you can try to get someone else and play as a team, picking it up in turns?

1 turn a day should be ok...stuff happens with timing that will cause slow downs but its acceptable.

I'm not hung up on game speed. Most times I'll play soon after it arrives, sometimes it may be several days when I'm on a vacation or business trip.

I think we're all willing to accept ice's speed of play

but we still need one more for 8...

EDIT: Chirchill 25 pmmed me and said he was still in so we have 8 if ice plays.

Tried to reply Conroe about the "details" he told (Am I supposed to change,

what and how,please?). I just thought the mechanics was like an "usual" PBEM;

I never changed anything or put passwords, so don't know how.

Where can I find the email (or whatever) of player2 to send the save to,please?

Or, before send, must I do said "details" change? About the STPM to send

saves inside game, no idea.

If you replied to my PM, I did not receive it. But I shall try to answer your questions as best I can ...

Changing the "details" is not a PBEM only thing. It is available in single player mode as well. From the game menu, select the "Your Details" option. Then change your player name from "Player1" to "fed1943" or even "AnythingYouLike". You should also change your password as there will be 2 other people that know the default password.



There is also a hotkey to bring up the details screen. Alt-D I believe.

About the STPM to send saves inside game, no idea.

SMTP is the server that will handle the sending of an email message. Every ISP has an SMTP server. If you tell civ the name of your ISP's SMTP server, it will send the email for you.

I've never tried this, so I don't know how well it works, though. You can leave it blank and just send the email yourself, if you like.

You need to get Churchill 25's emailaddress. It's best to pm him.

Then open your hotmail/gmail/other email, send a mail to the address Churchill gave you, with the save file (4000 BC to player 2 or something like that) attached.

Churchill will then have to do the same, but email me (my email is evldrunen@msn.com).

I will then have to email donsig. So I need his address.
