Provo suggested ranked by timezone, but I would suggest that you alternate between European and US time zones as that will give you a better chance to get in 2 player turns each day.

I think timezones make sense to plan after, but we need to see the nationalities of people

Strict timezones are unlikely to work out perfectly because playing time also matters. If there are many people with highly variable play times then the idea of alternating hemispheres is an extremely good one.
My best playing time windows are 1300-1330GMT and 0500-0700GMT, with the 2nd one (my night, Europe's morning) being more likely.
Hadn't thought about the "name game" -- I'm one of the less inspired people who just take the defaults all the time. Just put David for the name and King for title I guess.
Oh, remembered something else -- if you change your tribe's name, does the game show who you're playing as?
