The current (ok, old) demogame website was located here. The site could be put to good use, but now, it's pretty near useless as it is waay out of date and doesn't even include the start of DG5. Is there any interest in keeping the demogame website updated, and if so, what kind of content ? (I would be willing to do limited bits of helping for it if we decide to use it...). We have it, so we mineaswell use it.

I agree that something needs to be done with it. I am for keeping it, it could prove to be usefull i suppose. Anyone have any good ideas for it?
I have experience with websites, html, graphics, and all that good stuff, so I will volunteer to HELP keep it up. I don't have time to maintain the whole thing. But I agree with you GA, "We have it so we might as well use it." :)

First we need to put together and update...I'll see if I can download the html files and put a little update together in the next day or two with some links to discussion and such... We can just use the current layout and design, and make content to be more informative.

While I can't get access of the whole site's files, Chieftess and I were talking about using a Content Management System (CMS) while using the current CFC homepage layout...I'll keep this updated...

Is it possible to host a "wiki" on that site? Just a random thought really... Don't know if that would make it easier or not, or if the desired functionality would be there...

... Whats a wiki?

Wikipedia
It's like a dictionary/encyclopedia that everyone can add to.

@Dave: Not sure if that's possible. I'll check it out.

Yes, infact, some CMS systems do have a "wiki" type page where people can add to the glossary. Our website at work will have that, except that only publishers (moderators) can post them.

If I could figure out how to, I could make some more interactive parts of the demogame. Like an online demogame RPG game maybe.

First we need the CMS to be working...

It's only on a test server right now. ;)

The Demogame Website has been an almost complete failure sense day one. I see more use for it, if there was a way for leaders to put information on there easily.

I'm looking at a CMS system called MamboCMS. There was a WikitikiCMS, but TF doesn't have the server requirements, so this is the next best thing. I'll definately include a section where advisors can update news, and what-not. My origanal website design was to have it very interactive.

I currently have the MamboCMS up and running on a test server (cfcdg.freeownhost.com/MamboCMS/index.php)! (finally got it to work), so you can see some of the sample features.

It's a dummy-site right now, and I'm going to be playing around with it.

Whe I tried to go to that site, I got:

Not Found
The requested URL /civ3/html/index.html was not found on this server.

Apache/1.3.27 Server at www.demogame.civfanatics.net Port 80

Probably because I was rearranging the directories then.

It still doesn't work for me. I'm using Mozilla Firefox, does that make a difference?
