No.. still working on my 2nd communism one.. currently still in 710AD, but if I press enter for 30 turns (stay at my current cpt) I will win in 1020AD.. so I am pretty sure I will get a good time on it.. :p
Currently looks like I will win somewhere in 900AD to 930AD range

I'm certain that pop-rushing is the way to go on Cheiftain, but not too sure about higher levels. The reason is that on Cheiftain you don't need to worry about gpt when pop-rushing. You just set Lux to high and then pop pop pop. When gpt spent on maintenance/lux exceeds income then just let it go negative.

For higher than Cheiftain this is not the case though. As maintenance increases there's less gpt for lux, which means managing happiness while popping is problematic as you need more lux after each pop. I'm not sure if less gpt for lux while pop-rushing is better/worse than less gpt while cash-rushing.
 
Except.. in current rules you are allowed to use the negative gpt in higher than chieftain difficulty too..
 
My real concern is the number of turns without any culture (during the anarchy period). Considering the size of my empire, I'm sure to draw a 7 or 8 turn anarchy. I'm normally running about 250cpt when I get Feudalism (unless it's my age bonus), so that would be nearly 2K of culture, that I'd have to make up just to break even. I could probably change by research strategy (engineering or monotheism at minimum) and get feudalism faster and then I might get a shorter anarchy (and my cpt would be lower).

I was very careful during the current chieftain game to keep a positive bank (just a habit from prior games), so I wasn't really taking full advantage of all of the available tactics.
 
Nice games guys! I'm getting more interested in these 100K games lately, maybe I'll try an HOF attempt of my own sometime. I know this doesn't come into play in a lot of 100K games, but I haven't been able to find the answer to this question yet: does Universal Sufferage reduce unhappiness due to the draft? I think it does, not sure though... Could help the score if you're a draftmaniac, maybe even improve your date a little.

I'm pretty sure Universal Sufferage only reduces War Weariness, not any other causes of unhappiness. If Gyathaar's idea of using Feudalism as a government for pop-rushing works out then 100K may well be reached well before researching Industrialization anyway.
