Diet Pepsi is not as fizzy as Diet Coke

I went to the store yesterday. Diet Pepsi was on sale but Diet Coke was not. So I bought the Diet Pepsi. I usually buy 2 litre bottles. The thing I noticed though is that while Diet Coke pours smooth into most of my glasses, leaving lots of dissolved carbonation, Diet Pepsi reacts as if the glass were a glass made of mentos. Why is this? Is there a difference besides taste between the two major brand's diet beverages?

I bought four bottles. All four bottles were like this. I'm just drinking straight from the last one. Mentos are a type of candy. re mentos: incredible, i saw someone with a packet of them at work today.
re diet stuff: mmm, tried some diet bru today expecting a lot of froth. turns out it's a lot less lively than the usual stuff.
