Differences between orig Civ2 and MGE for SP games

Ok, I've managed to aquire MGE (I got it because units were flickering weirdly in the original... MGE didnt fix that, it turned out that the problem would go away when I switched my desktop from 32bpp to 16), I already have the original Civ2 (2.42), I'm about to start a single player game and I'm wondering if there are any rule changes, AI changes, etc in MGE as far as singleplayer games go, because I've heard that MGE brings in a few negative changes for SP.

Yeah apparently MGE has a more aggressive AI. I don't know how big the difference as I never played original Civ 2 much. I've got it somewhere though Maybe it would be easy since I'm hardened to MGE...
