different windows versions?

I'm trying to play a local game with 2 windows XP machines and 1 windows 2000 machine. This XP machines see each other fine, but the 2000 machine doesn't see the local games...it can see internet games though....anyone know if w2k has issues?

Also, when I'm on the Windows 2000 machine and I press "Host Game" I get a windows error that says Civilization3X.exe made a fatal error and will be closed...and that it created error log.

What gives?

Windows 2000 is not fully compatible with all games. It's not meant to be an Operating System to play games on. However... the Civ3 box tells us it should be windows 2000 compatible... so I'm not sure what's causing your problem... it could be some hardware drivers as well.
