Didn't see a thread for diplomacy. I have a minor gripe as it relates to starting as minor civs.

That -1 penalty for first impressions kind of irritates me. They can run around kicking your improvements over with impunity, but f you take action to remove the vandal you get that -1 hit. I figure it should be a wash if both civs took an aggressive action.

That and civs that are a certain faction with you shouldnt send their nationality hidden units in to kill your workers. I have Hammurabi who is +26 happy with me sending in his warlords and assassins from time to time. He should have learned from the Canadians, they got a little pillage happy in the prehistoric era and suffered death via Bear Riders.

Also Ive seen civs offer to buy techs from me they are one turn away from finishing. Im sure this is a common thing thats abused as Im tempted to sell them techs every time their research is about to finish.

Does this modifier work differently on the Minor Civ option? It comes up without the option and generally seems to be based on the leader personality profile when it shows up in such a game. I've never looked into it too deeply though.

I think its always there since you start at war, but Im not positive (I typically trespass while exploring so not sure if that would trigger it or not...I rarely attack anyone unless they do something to warrant it)

This is an exploit that should be fixed, well spotted. Do they pay full price for it?

I have no idea what full price is since the price ranges seem to fluctuate so widely.

Given that I have been offered another (non religion) tech of the same general level + several K gold I would imagine the AI doesnt distinguish between unresearched and almost full researched.

No, it is still there with Start as Minors. I'll change that though right now.

Post a save that reliably repeats this behavior somewhere, and Koshling can debug it and make the AI better at not doing stupid stuff like that.
