Since we might be building a settler soon I thought that this would be an appropriate

Here is where the Mongolian city is

The Russians are further to the south, just to the SW of where the scout is at the southern part of the minimap.

It appears as though the space will run out quick. Since we haven't met any other civs, I suspect that there might be no one in the SE. If that's a pennisula it would be nice to plop a couple of cities at a choke point and deny open borders to limit the expansion of Ghengis.

I've had Peter as a long-term ally in a few games so he won't turn on you unless you tick him off. Ghengis IMO is slightly less aggressive than Monty. So he should be dealt with.

EDIT::: here is the choke point(s). The one to the north is at the southern edge of OUR territory and the other is almost centerscreen that leads to the forested pennisula

Something to note - that's a slightly old screenshot, and is missing some critical information - horses.

There are horses both north and south, along the western coast, from the Mongol city. If we want to grab that resource, we must work towards that goal quickly.

BW is currently working on a Warrior, but configured for max growth. The worker is creating a pasture around the pigs. Once complete, that tile will produce 6(!) food.

I suggest we maintain BW as max growth and working on the Warrior. When the pasture us complete, we switch from an flood plain to the pigs. When we hit size three, we continue with the max growth, but switch to a settler.

Once the settler is complete, we switch to a balanced setup, and finish the warrior. Our existing warrior would escort the settler down next to the horses.

To make this work, I would like to see our next DP play until the Settler is created, and then halt the session.

(18:59:01) Blkbird: i think the tile NE of the horses is the ideal place for our next city
(18:59:25) Blkbird: it's coastal, it has wheat for growth
(18:59:50) GeorgeOP: perfect place Blkbird
(18:59:54) Blkbird: *and*, it cut the mongols - and everyone else - off our peninsula
(19:00:08) Blkbird: that's worth a *lot*

There are no good screenshots of what we were talking about (I'm at work and can't get one now). IIRC, it is W-W? of the wheat in Tubby's second screenshot. After it's culture expands once, it will have horses, wheat, be a coastal town, and cut off our peninsula from the other civilizations. I think our second city should go there, and we can fill in our land later, like Tubby suggests. From what we can tell, that is the closest horses to Mongolia, so they will probably also be rushing to settle near there.

I'm sorry for the out-dated screen shots. I pulled them out of the screenshot thread. These two pictures sort of explain what I was talking about so that's why I used them even though the second screenshot is from the end of Chieftess's turnset

Completely understand. This one might show it - I'm at work and the firewall blocks it.
