Democratic Party direction post-Harris

To an American, any government that proposes any left-leaning policy is Communist.

Fixed it for ya.

Well socialist is a dirty word.

Either way America doesn't have enough to actually matter in any sense. Liberal wing of Democrats lean Democratic Socialist.

IIRC, been like that since the first red scare in the 1920s. Socialism and communism are regularly interchangeable here in the US.

Here wasn't vilified comparatively to America. But we were heavy Democratic Socialist until 1984.

Essentially died put as it's hard to get people to care with cradle to grave welfare and cheap housing and high wages.

Probably why they hate democratic socialists so much. Its about the best humans have achieved in practice (Scandinavia, NZ, Australia once upon a time). Free tertiary, universal Healthcare, welfare, government paid you to have kids and buy a house.

In America, "socialist" generally means "communist".

And to a lot of America, "socialist" and "communist" mean "anybody to the left of Ronald Reagan"

Do you have sources that aren’t paywalled/required to sign up? I want to see the graphs.
