directx help!!

hi, i just got civ4 and installed it, which seemed to go ok. except when i installed directx9, i got the error message:

"A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enables and the cabinet file certificate is valid."

...i tried downloading and installing directx9 from the directx website, and it downloaded fine, but when trying to install i recieved the same error message.

when i try to run civ4, i recive the error:

"This application has failed to start because D3DX9_26.DLL was not found."

I don't can i disable the certificate checking so it just installs without questioning? If anyone has ideas...help please!

Microsoft stuff sometimes has hiccups. There's a dicsussion at Ask Leo! with some steps to try to resolve it.
You're on the right path, "This application has failed to start because D3DX9_26.DLL was not found." should stop appearing once you successfully install DirectX 9.0c's latest version.
