DirectX Issue, I think.

I recently (2-3 days ago) started playing Civ5 again, on a new computer, finally using DirectX 11 rather than 9. Today, When I opened the launcher, the "DirectX 10/11" option was grayed out, and a message beneath it read "Requires Service Pack 2 or Greater". I looked at the tech support FAQ thread on this forum, and as it suggested, checked to make sure that steam wasn't running in compatability mode for some reason. As it happens, it was, so I quickly stopped that, but the problem remains, unfortunately. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't really belong here, doesn't it ^^?

DX11 is more beautiful than DX9, but also more performance intensive.
DX11 requires a DX11 compatible graphics card (yours is) and Win7.
If you have only WinXP, than the DX11 option will not look any different from DX9, because WinXP supports DX9 at max.
For WinVista...it supports only DX10, which will look less beautiful than DX11, but more than DX9. Due to poor optimization it will probably be more performance intensive than DX11.

tl;dr: With the right graphics card and Win7 use DX11, else use DX9.

So I may give it a try if It doesn't checker board on me. Thanks.

Seemed appropriate for a Direct X thread. ;)
