DirectX10/11 doesn't seem to work

Hi,

I've just reinstalled the vanilla of Civ5 (1400+ hours on it ! :dubious:) on my new Windows 11 24H2 computer and whatever i try it seems it can only run with Direct X 9 : the farms look fancy with the fields separated by a white line, and the texture put some time to accommodate to their real resolution when the screen jumps to another areas, even if it was there a few sooner in the same turn, and that's very unpleasant.

I've tried to change the starting in Steam in Properties and when I check again it still says it will run on Direct X 10/11. I've replaced the shortcut on my desktop with one from the .exe that mentions Direct X 10/11 and it does still seem it's running with Direct X 9. It occasionally seemed it was running on Direct 10/11 because I could enable anti-aliasing in the settings, but I don't know how to run on Direct X 10/11.

Please help.

For those who may concern. I just found solution for Civilization V game DX 10/11 support and anti-aliasing unavailability.
1) i had to select DX version in steam. (right mouse button click on Sid Meier's Civilization V - select "Properties...". Than in tab "General" in "Selected Launch Option" chose "Play Sid Meier's Civilization V (DirectX 10/11)"

Update: i found better slution on 2K support page: https://support.civilization.com/hc/en-us/articles/37691322450707-Civilization-V-Launcher-Removal
(section Making your Shortcut Use Desired DirectX)

P.S. Sory for my bad English.

Welcome to Civfanatics and thank you very much !
Your update section with the 2K support page link works ! Amazing. You have my thanks for registering just for this, I thought the people in here could have been of some help. Do you know a better place where I could get help, because I ran on another issue that basically prevents me to play as I wish I could (so I don't even bother playing anymore :( ). I spammed my problem in many threads of the Civ5 mod section, here is one of them : https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...ential-imo-mod-for-vanilla-civ5-exist.696542/

Thx again but that's not it. Basically it's a bug of vanilla that has never been fixed except in the expansions. Workers, when in the neighborhood of an aggressive unit that's not here anymore, will still prompt the player every single turn to demand orders as if they were still in danger, whereas they are safe, and this lasts 40-50 turns after the enemy unit is gone, even if you made peace with everyone (including City-States) and barbarians are disabled. This can be very annoying when you have 5+ workers in a row demanding for completing a work you already addressed them the previous turns, etc. This is simply a game breaker for me.

Could you provide save file? I didn't played this game for too long. If i remember correctly this happens in later game? I might try to contact with their tech support. I just launched this game again few days ago after too long period of time. Or try to fill bug report at 2K support page by yourself. They might ask you to provie additioonal information and save file i think. When coders can reproduce error thay can locate and fix it. I have some experience in filling bug reports. Good bug report is a big part of work on the bug. https://bugherd.com/blog/bug-reporting#:~:text=7 Rules for Writing a Good Bug Report, can ... 7 7. Collect Visual Evidence
On the web there much more links on how to write good bug report.

Here is a save file that shows clearly enough I hope the issue. All workers near Boston (I'm Gandhi, took it out) do ask each turn what to do again after pressing "next turn". In that case that's not too much annoying because they all are prompted in a row and require an icon placed at the same place. But for bigger games it can be purely game breaker.
As to 2K support, I don't think they will be of big help as this is a recognized bug by Civfanatics community, never has been addressed in vanilla version, and it's maybe because the devs don't want us to play vanilla anymore because they changed some things for the better according to them in expansions. (ex : Hanging Gardens give 10 food in vanilla, only 6 in expansions ; crossbows upgrade to riflemen in vanilla but to Gatling guns in expansions, units have only 10 HP but 100 in expansions, etc.)
