I'm sure that this question has probably been asked a 1000 times before, but since there is no search feature, I can't find it.

Is there a way to turn off the city governors? I like to micro-manage everything and It's extremely annoying to have my cities building cathedrals and colleseiums when I'm in the middle of a huge war. I changed the options under the production tab to list "Never" on all options, but all now all my cities do is try and build Mobile SAM units when there are no air units opposing me. I would like it to ask me what to build next after each and every unit/improvement/wonder completeion.

I've been playing since Civ1 & Civ2, and so I guess my playing style is deeply rooted.

Thanks.

The governer will always suggest something to build(normally it's nowhere near what you want), this can't be turned off.

Welcome to CFC!

So there's no way to get it to prompt you to choose the next build item, like it does after you complete a city improvement? After building city improvements, it prompts you to choose the next item, but it does not do this after completeing a military unit. It just picks some stupid thing to build and I have to change it every stinkin time. If I don't catch it in time, I get a whole bunch of useless units or expensive city improvements. Seems really frusterating for a "feature".

Go to your preference menu, then click the box that says "Ask for Build Orders after Unit Construction?" or something like that.

You have to look in the preferences fot an option called "Ask for Build Orders after Unit Construction". It's near the "Colorblind Help" option.

Perfect!!! I guess I was colorblind or something to miss that setting in the preferences. :)

Thanks for your help. :goodjob:
