I had this game previously installed and working fine, underwent and update and then the game stop playing. I tried to reinstall and now disk 2 says it cannot be read. I've uninstalled Nero in the hopes perhaps it was a simple blacklist issue for burning software, but it appears not to be the case. I am not a pirate, my game is official. I have both Gold edition and bought beyond the sword and played the game for over a year or more without ANY issues until the last update. Now I can't even get some of the disks to read and I cannot for the life of me figure out what is triggering the software to fail. The CD's are in pristine condition, cleaned and scratchless. The CD players are working fine. It's literally blowing my mind and I have a Masters Degree in Information Systems and have searched for solutions all over the web. I do admit, I've not formatted my main drive in FOREVER and a lot of software has been on and off my computer, but I have no idea what it is I need to ditch if I want to be able to play the game again. I seem to be having the SAME problem with CIV 3, which I also have a copy of. It's really ruining my day. Install fails.
