Divine Intervention V: Montezuma's Madness

sry bout the confusion...... like i mentioned somewhere, i know i took a lot more screenshots but they did not get logged and saved...

i was a gentleman to Izzy, of coarse she didn't ask for anything but my head the entire round so i really didn't have to much to worry about

Screenies for Nictel

That's all you wanted right?

"Your Majesty, we are at war with Montezuma!'

"WHAT?! I gave no such order!"

"It seems somehow a rogue group of soldiers made it on his continent and started to attack. One of them is apparently very good at impersonating you."

This means we're at war with half the world. This is not good. Our enemies surround us. I am certain Nihil and his cohorts are to blame!
Send this message to Montezuma, perhaps all is not too late.

"Will do your Majesty"

The Spanish war machine raged on.

Great Montezuma,

Due to circumstances I am unfortunately not able to come to you in person. Nihil has plans to destroy us all!
Please use these brave settlers to gain new land.

Spoiler Not for CCRunner's eyes :
Told you I would do it. :P

Spoiler What to do :

  • Short term goals:
  • Have 25 ships at the end of your turnset. (Bringers of life.)
  • Per above I assume you probably have a max of settlers you need/want so if you complete the above quest but don't want any more settlers you can tell me and you'll get something else.
  • DO NOT KILL THE SETTLERS.
    Long term goals:
  • Nihil is very bad. Refuse everything and anything he asks for.
  • Capture Bibracte (Celtic Capital) before entering the Modern Age. Do not raze it. (It holds the Hanging Gardens.)
  • Make peace with Izzy.
  • Have a permanent Alliance with Izzy.

Spoiler ONLY FOR TRACNAR :
SERIOUSLY
Spoiler :
Concerning Nihil aggression; I am unsure as what wonders you have. But I can understand you would like to complete Nihil's objective for the rewards. Know that if you do you may find that the Aztec continent has become the Aztec island group. If you disband Nihil's prophet I'll give you two Great People in return of your choice. The choice is yours; die by fire or die by water.

As for my edits, could someone make these for me?
Spoiler Edits, NFTE :
  • Give Izzy three unpromoted knights on the iron near Salamanta.
  • Give Tracnar 4 Aztec Settlers.

Two things Nictel, i don't think permanent alliances are enabled, and i have already made peace and resumed open borders and trade with izzy

And for all you gods out there
Spoiler :
your mean

It seems that way:
Game Settings:
- Prince
- Hemispheres (Normal continents, Islands, 3 continents)
- Large
- Epic
- Player (Monty/Aztec) + 8 random AI
- Permanent Alliances enabled

Forget the peace then, I somehow totally missed that.
Of course if later you find out Permanent Alliances are not enabled the quest can be seen as invalid.

"Why has Tree forsaken us?", Montezuma demanded of the Tree Shaman. "Have we not paid him every respect?!"

"Be assured, your Majesty," replied the Shaman in a soothing voice, "Tree will reward us for our dedication in the years to come. But even he must sometimes look to his own affairs, rather than lavishing yet more blessings upon the faithful".

(OOC: Sorry, but I won't have a chance to do an intervention this round.)

You know, I would but he's being mean. I know why he did that "Not for CCRunner's Eyes"...

...Jerk ;)

Spoiler :
I'll get right on it. Expect it in like ten minutes or so.

Here you go. Nictel's changes, my story. I've decided to invoke another quest pertaining to something I added with the very first edit.

Montezuma, most exalted of mortals. Other gods have conspired to keep you land-locked and down trodden. With this I may not help you. However, I have no doubt that you will conquer their machinations and take to the sky. Once you do so, seek out my fortress and occupy it. You will have 50 years from the moment you make such a discovery to find and take hold of my abode. Come, meet with me in my own house and I shall reward you greatly.

What to do:
Spoiler :

Beeline to the Tech Flight. I know you may not get it this segment but the rewards will be better the sooner you get it. Once this happens, find my fortress on the map. Conquer it within fifty turns of when you discover flight. If you discover flight halfway though a segment, this time limit will carry over to the next segment. Just a hint, you'll need paratroopers hence the flight requirement. It is doable, I've tested it. It's just very hard  Don't waste any time, you'll need more than one paratrooper. Screenshots of when you discover flight and occupy the fortress would be nice so I can check the turn numbers.

I'm also going to make some changes today in a few hours from now. You should be able to play tonight, though.

Is it too late to get in on a minor quest? I know that affecting the long-term plot would be almost pointless this late into the thread, but a few minor quests here and there should be somewhat fun.

Sure go ahead, you have until tomorrow around 1[EST], as long as Paulus post's his changes

if you plan on making edits, it is too late this round, but just simple quests are fine

The ground shook with a steady beat. Montezuma rebalanced himself after the first few moments. What was it? An earthquake? There hadn't been one of those in a while. Much like forges randomly burning down, or volcanoes erupting.

The throne room doors swung open and a large, overweight man stood in the door frame. At the same time he stopped his walking, the shaking ceased.

"Greetings, Montezuma!" He boomed (there was no other way to describe it.) "I am Glotun. I have noticed that your people are too skinny. Therefore, I have decided to share my bountiful harvest with you. Go to my island, ny, and incease my hamlet's size to that of a city. If you do this, I will help increase the weight of your people.

Glotun released a loud burp and trudged out the door. The guards, still not expecting the shaking of his steps, fell to the ground.

Spoiler :
The quest: Colonize the island to the south. It has two cows, two elephants, and two whales. The three largest animals in civ.

Rewards: Free supermarket in three largest cities.

@ Arsonist (and only Arsonist)

Spoiler :
No, really.
Spoiler :
Really really.
Spoiler :
As a matter of fact, I've gotten so fed-up with Shaka that Thanatos has left Zululand and hit him with a nasty plague to boot (I've destroyed improvements and cottages, and removed pop points) and instead gave Qin my blessings. You might notice he has got a lot of free resources.
