Soviet intervention in Afghanistan scenario for ToTPP

I include the modification of Rules and improvement of icons in the Beta_3.

I add the screenshot of the progress of the scenario in the north and Kabul at the end of 1980, with the loss screen. I have managed to recover the lost city and protect most of the road between the USSR and Kabul. The infrastructure of East Kabul has been virtually wiped out by the insurgency, which will force me to focus on retaking this area and reinforcing it with artillery.

I am at the end of 1981, I have stabilized the situation in the east of Kabul and receiving important Soviet reinforcements while the convoys continue to flow, I am considering sending troops to the southern front. The worst has been the loss of troops, some of them elite, which shows the importance of the fighting, although the cities remain well protected and none seem to be threatened with collapse.

I upload a new version of the scenario with new improvements (for example the MiG-21 was too effective in the desert so I included a limited number of attacks, in this case 2). I think I'm close to finalizing the development of the scenario.

My old computer has died for now, I haven't been able to resurrect it, but in any case it seems that the game is lost... I don't know if the problem with the rockets is solved... for now. So far I don't see any strange things in the evolution of events. As soon as I can, I'll start again. Best regards

The wisdom of backing up data can't be understated. I've been there, too.

Yes Patine, there is no problem with copies of the scenario, the last one is actually added here, but it did not occur to me to save the .sav as well, which will force me when I have the desktop computer running, to start again... I could play it on the laptop, but it looks too small and I don't like it.

I play Civ on a laptop. :P

I have included along with other small changes in units, one of the classic Russian trucks, the Камаз, which even had its own song from its passage through Afghanistan.

Americans, Germans, and Japanese give their trucks songs, too. They're called TV commercial advertising jingles. :P

Truck drivers spend many hours behind the wheel and listen to a lot of good or bad music, there is also a mythology of the truck and "freedom", as in the USA, which encouraged many singer-songwriters to reflect in their songs that ideal world of the road... Obviously there are many songs about trucks around the world, but this scenario is about the War in Afghanistan and the Soviet intervention and I think that the Kamaz song and the images portray very well the harshness of transport in a mountainous area at war and that they serve to introduce us to the atmosphere that I seek to reflect on scenario.

In fact, I think that this page has other wonders where we can see the importance of armored vehicles for the protection of convoys, fortified points in the mountains or the fundamental participation of helicopters... while we enjoyed good music of the time, in this case by the group Kino. Enjoy it while I am still waiting for the new computer.

The song "Blood Group" is directly dedicated to the war in Afghanistan. You can easily make it the official soundtrack of your scenario for the Soviet player.

The group "Kino" is still extremely popular in Russia, and its work is equally liked by people of completely opposite political views.
