DLL - Various Mod Comps + Civ IV Diplo + CSD mods

Does this work with your 34 civ dll?
Don't see why not - make sure you have downloaded the 34/43/62 DLL that was recently recompiled, as the previous one was somewhat out-of-date.

And get the 34 civ DLL working without CSD and C4DF first. Then add one or the other, then finally add the last one ... ie avoid "big bangs"

I just saw that v81 of your DLL is now online. Yay!

From your main VMC mod thread, I found the following bit:

V81 uploaded to web-site and GitHub

NOT save game compatible with V80

  • Fixes the missing C4DF messages
  • Fixes the Venice keeping luxuries issue if not enabled
  • Adds an option to keep luxuries for diplomatic marriage
    [*]Custom CS Quests
    [*]CSD quests (temporarily) removed
  • CvGameCoreDLL (Vanilla) and CvGameCoreDLL_Expansion (G&K) code removed from the build and GitHub

Regarding the bolded parts, I got curious, so I looked up the linked thread as well. It seems that you added three quest mini-mods as well.

Just asking, but weren't circumnavigation, building national wonders, and generating most tourism already quests added by CSD? So if you mention CSD quests are temporarily removed... if I add those three mini-mods to compensate, is there anything else that has been removed then? I assume CSD's 'diplomatic units are more effective for X turns' mini-mission might now be defunct considering it's CSD dependent, but would you mind telling me if you disabled any other CSD quests? Hopefully there aren't any...

disabled any other CSD quests

All of them. The code conflicts with the new events, so until/if I can get the code for v26/27/28 (or whatever the last stable version is) merged, they are gone.

Post #1 updated for V28 of CSD

CSD v28 support (original code is here https://github.com/LoneGazebo/CSD)
- CSD v28 can be downloaded here - use only this version
- CSD quests are back (and compatible with custom quests)
- CSD switches on/off as a whole (no more quests, difficulty, hurry or resolutions sub-options)

Many thanks to Gazebo for making a stand-alone version of CSD

Does this work with your 34 civ various mod comp dll? I can't get it to fully work but I have a little leway

Different versions (requires v82 or later) - I just need to recompile the 34/43/62 civ variants

Sorry for multiple replies, I actually I posted the first time! I have tried to make the 43 civ dll work with civ IV diplo mod and it doesn't really work. The civ IV UI shows up but none of the functions work. For instance, if I try and have somebody capitulate, it will say "You have to be in the medivial era to do this," even if I am in that era or above.

I'll give it another try soon, unfortunately I probably won't have time to do it during the weekdays. Thanks for all the support, you're really the best :D.

Looking through the Pick'N'Mix site, I saw that there's a v2 of Diplomacy - CivIV Features.

This topic still has v1 in the instructions so I guess I should stick to that, but what's the difference between v1 and v2?

Only the mod-description (v2 says that it requires C4DF V11.08), so the functionality is the same.

Right now, I'm having a CTD problem where if I capture a former city-state that is now under barbarian control(due to failed CSD Barbarian Horde quest) the game immediately crashes, before even any animations for the final attack play out. This is not the first city I(nor the AI) have captured in the current game, so I guess it has something to do with being a (former) city-state or such.

Never seen this problem before. Maybe something's amiss in the new .dll? I would attach the .dmp except that I don't know whether it will help since I'm using a giant bunch of mods together, and the nature of the problem is such that it's hard for me to replicate it on a fresh game with only the combined .dll plus CSD enabled(would have to rely on a random quest triggering, said quest failing without any AI civs interfering, then capturing the CS).

Could you look into it?

Eeerrrgh, alright. Guess I'll try to replicate it anyway then.

- Backup Cache/Logs/Moduserdata so I can just re-paste them once experiment's done
- Only VMC+CSD enabled, all other mods disabled. Maybe just allow Really Advanced Setup for convenience's sake, just CSD + RAS never had this issue anyway
- Chieftain difficulty, or heck, maybe Settler difficulty
- Only one AI civ. Preferably a peaceful one that isn't Austria/Venice
- As many city-states as I can pack into the map
- Maybe Raging Barbarians
- Wait while amassing units, hope I get lucky

Will be back with the .dmp if I succeed and the issue happens again. Will be back as well if I manage to replicate the situation yet the problem doesn't happen, in which case I'll have to look elsewhere...

So, after playing like 200 turns fruitlessly waiting for a random event to trigger in this new Settler game done just for replication's sake, finally another CS fell to barb control.

So I went and liberated it. Same deal. Except that this time there's no crash.

...what?

OK, false alarm I guess. Sorry for drawing your attention.

But that does raise the question; what went wrong? The only change in the mod setup I made in the crashing game was this new DLL+CSD version, and some of the stuff I found in the Pick'N'Mix site. Is something unknowingly conflicting with some other mod I added ages ago? But I thought I was careful enough with this... Weird.

...Does mod activation order in the queue sometimes change whether games crash or not? I might try clicking the same mods on but in a different order, see whether that will get me somewhere.

If it doesn't... bleh. At least I know what specifically crashes my game. Guess I should roll back to a previous save for that game, preemptively save that dang CS from falling to barbarian hands in the first place.

Well, even after saving that CS, it still crashed around turn 220-ish. I don't know what's wrong.

But I did notice a few things going wonky. like CS Embassies suddenly losing their extra votes when I reload saves, bunches of CS's randomly getting mad at me for absolutely no reason whatsoever, etc.

No, I don't think I'd be able to replicate these things... But I'm starting to think that my current mod setup isn't friendly to the CSD quests. It's exactly the symptoms I saw by PM; randomly crashing late-game-ish.

*sigh* Guess I'll have to just resort to using the v81 DLL which doesn't have the CSD-specific quests then. Hopefully it won't crash this time. Shame, I was getting along very well and it was even an Immortal game, too.

I'll just ask a couple of questions:

1) Are CSD v28 and Diplomacy - City States v5 compatible with the v81 DLL? Or do I have to use v27 and v4 respectively?

2) Ever since I played using this DLL I've noticed that the number of active resolutions per each World Congress session is 2(same as unmodded game). I distinctly remember CSD expanding the number of active resolutions to 3(host, 2 non-host civs with the most delegates) to accommodate the slew of newly introduced ones. Whoward, did you by any chance change that number from 3 back to 2 when you compiled that DLL or its add-on for CSD? Or is that function handled elsewhere? Or did you do no such thing?

Distant Rainbow. I used only CSD and Civ4diplo without other mods and it happened to me too. When a civ replaces me as an ally the city states start to hate me almost to the point of declaring war. Also when a great diplomat is born his name is like Great_text_ person, like that something. Also CTD most times after a specific turn - 90 or convert a city state to my religion

Sound more like there are issues with v28 of CSD - have you verified that CSD v28 is behaving correctly? (See "Support" under post #1)

Not yet, many of the issues started erupting(or were visible only then) late, after the World Congress was founded. I didn't even properly get out of the Medieval Age on my last 'test' run.

Currently playing a new game on the v81 DLL / v4 Diplo-City-States setup, so if there has been no reply by the time I finish this one I'll give a shot at trying CSD v28 alone with more civs(since last run was a 1v1) and seeing if it works.

PS. IIRC CSD v28 requires the VMC DLL to work, right?

No matter what I do I can't seem to get the 43 civ dll to work with civ IV diplo. Any tips for something i could do?
