Do culture revolutions go through cycles?

Anything and every thting really ...yes bell bottoms, yes people trying to bring up the topic of a flat tax, fighting the man, being yuppies and wanting to be "the man", ...the defenition of "the man" all that stuff. Do we go through cycles?

If you mean the left-right wing swing I totally agree. Regions/countries of the world go through these periods where people are left-wing, and then as a counter to that people (later generations) become right-wing, and then as a counter to that people become left-wing again, and so on....

Currently we are in a left-wing phase in the Western World as a result of the right-wing phase of the 2nd WW. But this is just in the Western World, in large parts of the rest of the world are in a right-wing phase.

The "whats old is new again" thing. I can't say it cycles but cultural revoulutions are seldom revolutionary. Take automotive design "retro styles" aren't realy in a cycle ( more like lazy unimaginative design). I like Homie's political swing thing. I do think things get cool again but not in cycles per say.

I'm waiting for shag carpet, neon biker shorts and dirty hippies ti make a come back, preferably all at once.

So long as its not dirty hippies IN neon biker shorts *shudder*

Looking at history, i have to say no. Occasionally religions, fashions and philosopies may encounter a revival, but on a whole it is too different from the original one, or repackage differently for me to call it a true reproduction. History is too filled with random events other than human actions to cyclical.
