So, I've been playing Civ in pretty much every iteration since it first came out, and I'm fairly certain that in every version, it's told me upon exiting, that I'll be doing so without saving. Even now, in 2014, Civ Beyond Earth warns me upon exiting that by doing this, I will exit without saving.
While this is really only a minor annoyance (if that), I'm kinda curious what others think. Do we need to be warned at this point in the evolution of video games that we should save our progress before exiting? Or are we savvy enough that we can avoid it? Personally, I can't think of a single computer/console game out there that doesn't require you save the game first (yes, phone apps and MMOs save automatically, but I don't think single-players do? If I'm wrong, please correct me), so by now, one would think the warning wouldn't be necessary. Thoughts?
