Its bin 4 mounths since civ came out and there has bin two patches sofar. I wanted to know do you injoy it, are you saticefide with the game. I want to see how many people like what thay paide for :) .

I liked what i paid for and i hope it gets better.

P.S. :crazyeye: :crazyeye: (I dont know why I made this thread it seamed like a good idea for a few seconds, ahh ill still put it up.) :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

I've chosen the "why" option.

Sure, Civ4 is fun in some way, yet it misses so many things... :-(

That game's just great. I borrowed it, tested it and actually bought it, a thing that I don't make often anymore (I'm not a heavy gamer). And I enjoy every minut I play.

I've seen a lot of old timers ranting around how it was better before, but it's the first time I get stuck on a Civ for so long. Even CTP 2 didn't hold me that long. I'm more a real-time player usually, and Civ IV just killed AoE 3 that I've been waiting for years : I've played 2 weeks and now I'm on Civ IV.

If there's an expansion pack which actually adds something to the game (not just a few more civs), I'll buy it too. I'd really like some improvements in the diplomacy options (meaning more options) and some non-conventional units. Building beefs all along is quite boring.

I do like the game...for a while before I get bored; not like civ 2 (or even 3) where I could play for 5 hours at a time. But I have had some really fun games to be sure. For me the biggest disappointment is that this game still runs slow even, at times, on standard maps. I have a Comp. that is above all the requirements, hell above the recomendations, and the damn thing still has performance problems!! I have to turn off all leaderhead animations because they slow the game to where it is unplayable, even on a standard map. This is by far my biggest complaint. But I also have a problem with level of difficulty with being able to mod this game. It may be the most moddable Civ ever but you almost need to take a course in Computer programming to be able to do it- LOTS of time, trial and error. I was really surprised by that. I was expecting an ingame GUI interface for most basic modding stuff- New civs, simple modifications of units, creating/Modding leaders ect...- Nope you have to actually go in and mess with code! I knew it would be that way for serious modifications but for EVERY modification?? For me it is more trouble than it is worth- made 1 civ and that’s it. Thankfully there are people out there who LOVE to mess with code so the game will continue to evolve and I am sure the best is yet to come.

Now after having complained I do enjoy playing the game and I believe it was worth the price, I just expected something a little different than what I got.

I like it, but I'm still playing a lot more of C3C. The 3D graphics are somewhat annoying to me.

I think it's pretty annoying that every city has to do everything for itself. I would like one city to produce awful big amounts of food so that some cities could concentrate on producing units or infrastructure. Is there some hidden feature somewhere which makes it possible to send shiploads of food to other cities? It's a pretty basic thing I think. Any developed country do this.

Another annoying thing is the marble and stone. Either you have it just beside your starting location, or you won't find it on your continent. Why is the placement of marble and stone so bad? They are the two best resources out there and you can never be sure to find it.

Other than that, I love the game and I think some smart guy should mod the religions so they have different benefits and features. I actually think that was the point from the developers, thing is, they can't release it like that because some religious people would take offence.

But for the crippling random crashes, I'm enjoying it, but till they get the stability sorted it's effectively unplayable after the Renaissance.

Try a civ without bronze and iron and see how long you last!

simple, you quit the program, go to your program menu and load Civ 3.:p

It is all right with me.

I like what I paid for so far

Seems kind of expensive entertainment when I run a price per hour cost analysis. So far it is about $0.025 per hour of actual game play and that's not counting the price of electrictiy and cost of cheetos (chrunch of course - I am a warmonger).

Yes I like what I paid for, but as I've said elsewhere I only paid £17.99 for it :)

Not sure how I'd feel if it was a £34.99 game - like Quake IV, which I bought for this price and felt it was an incredibly short game which I completed in no time (granted the multiplayer is fun, but still)

Yep- good times. Do wish it came without the "time distortion" feature that leaves you "one more turning" at 1 AM. Grr.

Game takes up a huge amount of memory on my PC and I have massive amounts of work, but other than that, yeah, it's good. I almost prefer Civ 3's graphics, but I like the sheer amount of resources Civ 4 has.

That's not the point. I always get tons of bronze and iron (and any other necessary resource) but rarley any marble or stone. That's what sucks.

Well for a month ive played it lots, starting noble, mainly play at monarch and dominate.

Have had a lot of fun, but starting to get bored of it now

My main problem is the AI, its still essentially dumb, as in CIV 3
and civ 2 and smac.

So when the levels go above monarch the bonus's get nasty..which means
warmongering is the main way to win.

I hope civ 5 will have a clever ai that plays better as u go up levels rather than adding bonus's...i understand the problems behind it tho.

Im also dissapointed with religion implementation and diplomacy

Still, a hundred plus hours from 1 game is good value.
