Depends on my mood. If I want to listen to the civ music, then that's what I listen to. Especially during the Industrial and Modern Ages, good music there. Other times I will pop a CD in my CD player, and listen to that. Normally it's The Vines, Audioslave, or The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Noooooooooo, A game of civ takes so many hours that any music becomes boring!! Besides I'm talking and listening so much at work, so when I play I just want to have it all quiet!

Always, part of the game.

I have winamp playing in the background, usually something like Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack or Offspring.

Yep, I usually have it on. Sometimes I play windows media player instead, though.

Nope. I like my computer to be silent.

I do kinda miss the music from Civ2. Wish they hadn't used CD-Audio for it. Although I know why they did that. . . but it would have been nice to have more than 8 songs to go with Civ2.

I leave it on, but I usually have a radio playing so it gets drowned out most of the time.

A part of the game it may be, but it's also possible to have logged so many hours on the game that you're just sick of it. Especially when your average Modern Age lasts 200 hours per game...

No. I use my computer as my sound system with winamp running in the background. I even turn off all sound for Civ3 because it affects my music quality.

Sometimes I switch it on but then after a while it becomes too repetitive and thus boring and I switch it off again. Or when my wife wants to watch television I also switch it off.

I must say that I actually like it when the music takes a faster pace while you're having a fight, with those tribal sounds and all... But still, too boring after some hours...

I sometimes listen to the music which is fairly good for a game, but often I will listen to just my own music in WMP9.

i said no, nothing against the music, but for somereason, i don't like playing music when playing a game, weather civ, PS, GBA, it's just the way i am, i don't know why...oh wait, yes id do, my parents are always telling me turn it off :) plus, most of the time i have the TV in the background

I don't play the Civ3 music any more, it was nice for the first few hours but now it just makes me crazy. If it's too quiet I'll listen to mp3s, classical or 70s-80s pop rock depending on my mood.
