I was just glancing over that cheating thread (okay so I was actively posting on it) and I just thought there should be a poll for it. Please don't close this down moderators, the other one just got a little out of hand (I'M SORRY!!!).
This time I want no one going wacko, or this things going to be closed before it gets to post 5!!!

I already posted this in the cheating thread (along with some spam), but I'll post it again.
Yup, I reload too often, after bad starts or bad espionage mission. Especially, however, after misclicks. Like accidentally giving 400gpt instead of lump sum :ack: (that actually happened to me, BTW) I don't, however, reload after battles. Nope. Never.

Really only for starting locations. If it's war, or something, I pretty much play it out. I like to keep my games interesting.

Some day I should turn my autosaves off...but I like having them there. Just in case. :) (But I can beat Emperor without reloading, so it's not that big of an issue. If it's my first time on a difficulty level, I try not to).

Used to do it all the time (Ie battles, goodie huts, bad happenings, etc). Then I cut it down to only really bad things, and for the past 16 months or so, I have completely stopped. I will reload occasionaly, but a few turns later I feel bad and stop playing the game. I just don't feel like I earned what I got :)

CfC helped a lot with stopping me reloading. I'll vote no...

I wonder where slozenger and SoWhat3 are, they sided with it before the cheating thread was closed down yesterday...

...it was closed down? I thought it was sent up to the great forum in the sky, where mods are plentiful, spammers don't exist, flamers are extinguished, and trolling is only a faint memory.

If it is a bad start or a fingerslip that causes a major problem. Otherwise, no.

By the responce on the cheating thread I thought some people would choose yes, or maybe you guys are all lying!!!

should you not assume honesty?it seems the nice thing to do,other than calling everyone liars... ;)

and i reload, but not in civ3 ever, because it loads so slow.in other games, but only if it has a fast sav loader

Still regretting the cheating thread? I wisht the moderator would have given us a warning... but let's not talk about that!

It depends, really. I'll reload to undo honest mistakes, misclicks and the like, but not for intentional things that don't go my way.

No, unless you count starting a new game?

Usually after I've hopelessly lost, I quit before suffering humiliating defeat.

I used to, when I started. Now I realize that if I ever want to move up from Regent to Monarch, I should play with no reloads. I think that has improved my game.

I have done so a few times when I have committed a really really stupid mistake - but I usually spot it right away and restart the very next turn. If I make a fatal mistake I usually just end the game and start a new one. I'm too impatient.

Yeah, I usually reload if I loose a city because of my stupidity. Like I forgot to move my defense, or upgrade my troops.
But if, after reloading, I still loose the city, then I don't reload.
And I reload also when I pop the goody hut right next to my starting city and kaboom ! barbs.

Yes, I reload if I misclick and send my units/settler in another tile than that I wanted to, or if I accidentally gift a tech or if I pay huge gpt instead of bying the tech, or if my start is in huge jungle/tundra(and in the case of huge jungle, if I'm playing a non-industrious civ I'll be doomed).

Basically, I could keep playing if my start is really bad but I play a low level, but in higher levels that could be a suicide, but it really depends on my mood if I want to continue playing a bad start on a high level.

Also, I don't understand why all this "taboo" about reloading: I'm not playing to show others that I'm a "honorable" player and all that that I find imature - I myself know what I stand in real life and I don't need to prove anyone anything.

Sometimes I want to play for joy and I'll reload for a better start, sometimes I want to keep playing a really bad situation in the game no matter what although the other civs are slaughtering me - depends on my mood.

yes

but i've only played two or three games. so i needed some training wheels.
i won the two games that i took to the modern age. next time I won't reload at all.

so maybe i should have voted no.
