Three reasons:
1) Mids giving a powerful boost in the whip department. Already in the original BTS the Kremlin was a powerful wonder, but now the Mids make it accessible far earlier. BTW, even now past 1600 AD, I still haven't obsoleted the Mids with CS! Because I don't need Bureaucracy with a high amount of cities. Seems it hurt the stability....and irrigation chain isn't that needed.
2) Constant warfare between spawning civilizations, re-spawing, heavy whipping, civil overthrowing, etc. If I had to retry, I should make my planning a bit more organized. I'm completely torn apart with all those inherent problems Babylonia. In a normal game, I would have taken at least the half of the world by now...
3)Mass unit whippings recently to take the islamic invasions and salvage a decent amount of units to overrun nations just after the Ottoman destruction.
There is also the fact number 4 that I'm a complete rookie in RFC: DoC and I need more knowledge of game mechanics to make the game less random.
