DocT01a - Middle Ages Modified: Reconquista!

Right, sorry. Will re-upload tonight.

Because it's friday, I will be able to play today no matter how late Corrado uploads the file ;)

Any last-minute recommendations? I will definitly check the viability of stealing the un-tradable techs, but whether or not I go for it will depend on our treasury, especially since we'll want to get up to 1000 gold ASAP once the Domesday books completes for maximum effectiveness.

Preturn: I build an embassy in the Cordovan capital of Cadiz. It is defended by 5 companies of spearmen, 2 swords, a curragh, and a king unit. It is making a rather nice 15 spt, thanks to some mined hills with Iron and Stone. It is building a barracks, due in 3. It would tak 604 gold for an immediate steal, 906 for a careful attempt, and 1208 for a safe one. We will need to wait for the Domesday book to come on-line before we can consider a steal attempt. Alternativly, we could try for a steal from the Fatmids later on. Hit enter.

IBT: Harald Hardrada demands wool. I tell him to shove it, but he backs down and even remains polite.

Turn 1: MM Madrid for more shields, shaving a turn off the Domesday book. This will slow temple construction in Jaen. MM Leon to finish its blacksmith in 3 turns, then it can give the Iron tile back to Navarre. I figure that we might as well get Leon up to its max productivity first. Incidentlly, this improves out income to +1 gpt. Kick out the wandering Cordovan spears-no declaration yet...

IBT: Theodora kicks out our curragh explorer.

Turn 2: Kick out the Cordovans. They still won't declare. Start shifting rear-line MP's forward for the upcoming war. Which probably won't happen on my turns; I would like to have used our leader before then. I wish we had some way of getting the western church; the HRE is just crazy. Murcia builds a temple, starts a Curragh.

Turn 3: Leon finishes its blacksmith and is capable of 25 spt at max. Since I think we have enough military for now, it gives the iron back to Navarre and starts a courthouse since it will soon lose the palace. Kick out the Cordovans yet again.

IBT: Burgundians demand Code of Laws. Uh, I don't think so Abe.

Turn 4: Not much goes on.

IBT: Danes demand Iron. I tell them to go away, but they actually have the guts to declare on us. I decide to build an embassy in Paris and see how much an ROP would cost, maybe giving us a shot at the size-7 Danish city of Nantes.

Turn 5: Turns out I cannot afford an embassy this turn; it will take all our treasury next turn.

Turn 6: Err, I'm actually gold short still.

Turn 7: Build an Embassy in the Size 12 (!!) city of Paris. It has already build the HRE (forgot to mention this earlier), is making 22 spt and will finish the knights templar in 15 turns. It is also heavily defended; somewhere around 10 spear and a couple of swordsmen. A right of passage straight-up is close to a deal, so I will build up a bit of gold and try and buy an ROP rather than giving Joan CoL. Taking out a size 7 city will give us some VP at least. Domesday book completes next turn, so I send Sancho to rush the Palace in Madrid next turn along with a three-pack of workers to start irrigating and get the capital growing.

IBT: The first dane unit we've seen yet shows up in the Straits of Gibralter, a Longboat that ignores our Curragh and moves on.

Turn 8: The Domesday book completes in Madrid. Sancho the Fat's arcitectural genius allows the immediate construction of a new palace, but sadly Sancho's great weight leads to his downfall when the scaffolding he was standing on collapsed under his massive girth. Our income is barely improved since we have only 11 gold; with map making due in 9 this will soon change. Declare war on Cordova and go a'leader fishing. The Toledo blades attack Cadiz immediatly, losing 4 hp and killing a vet spear, reavealing another.

IBT: Cordovan Sword kills one of our swordsmen.

Turn 9: Palace in Madrid completes. Leon can still make the magic 15 SPT it needs for every-other-turn horsemen without needing the iron tile despite the corruption. We attack Seville with 1 vet and 1 Elite sword, kill both defenders and take the city. No leaders pop though ;) The city starts a temple for now. Since it is effectivly first ring after the palace jump, it will be a nice city soon. Toledo blades lose another 4 hp killing a vet sword, so they'll have to heal a bit next. This does leave an unfortified vet sword on top though :nuke: Elite sword kills it, leaving reg spear. Vet horse redlines and retreats. We take severe losses attacking Valencia and only manage to kill two spears. Leon will provide reforcemints soon. Checking the victory screen reveals that this is turn 95 so I must have screwed up the turn log somewhere. Oh well. Next leader gets to finish off the Cordovan and deal with the vikings. VP's are currently at 2635Madrid can also switch from blacksmith and start churning out military units every other turn if my successor feels that this is neccessary. The cordovan capital will last a turn or two longer now that our other army has finished mopping up Cordovan pillager-spears and can join the assualt. Getting excess swords killed off has gotten us up to +11 Gpt, but research will have to stay the way it is until we get Mapmaking done. Everyone seems to be pretty broke, leavvaving us with a fair number of excess resources that no one can actually buy.

The Last Crusade(well, until we are ready to take the Fatmids down)

Paris already has the HRE and builds the Knights templar :eek: ?
That means they know all the Catholic tree...could be a good move to try to steal Western Church from England or Poland, and try to get the Western techs in the Map Brokering.

Elvis: Do you know how you get the max out of the map brokering? Start with the small Civs like Bulgars, offer them our WM for theirs (or even their TM only), and trade with Franks, Byzantium and Abbassids last. But as long as noone knows CoL, hold back! Is someone already building the Bayeux Tapestry? We should start prebuilding it in Madrid.
Remember, once Cadiz falls, all of Cordova will turn into rubble.

Had a look at the save...with 11g and 14gpt we of course won't be able to steal anything :D

I'm not too happy to find our second Army filled with Swordsman, too...on the other hand, we won't get a unit with a better defence for a long time, so they aren't exactly useless.

And everyone except Abbassids is broken; too bad, unless someone starts the Bayeux Tapestry within the next few turns, I don't think we'll get much except Siege, WM and ~500gp (and we should keep those fro the Doomesday effect). Try to not giveaway any contacts, Elvis.

Constantly check for Danish Longboats, they could capture any coastal city easily; if possible, end this war, even if that costs us Iron - it's not of big use for them anyway (only for Blacksmiths), and we'll get another source soon. Trade away our spare resources, Burgundy or Poland can need help. Btw, if there ever show up Furs, immediatedly buy them; that's the only lux we have any chance to ever get.

Yeah, I should have just caved, but I honestly didn't think they would declare due to our greater power. I failed to take into consideration the fact that the Danes are usually the most powerful of the Vikings.

Edit/ We have multiple cities capable of building spearmen every other turn, so I would recommend flooding every coastal city with spears to at least slow down any amphibious assaults.

Elvis? You still playing?

I'll give Elvis another 3 hours, then I'll grab it;
Elvis, if you just lost track (partially my fault, I forgot to update the roster) and are still with us, you can simply play after me. I'd just prefer to get this game running, since the RBCiv series games will start soon, and then I think I'll start confusing the games (that means, I will be in 2 DyP, 1 FoR and 3 Middle Ages SGs :rolleyes: )

Last turn for Cordova!

Preflight: Looks fine. Change absolutely nothing.

Enter.
IBT: Cordovan Sword kills our next to Toledo. Cordovan Settler/ Spear Combo returns from France
More scary: 2 Danish Longships show up...
Leon (Sword) -> Sword
Murcia (Worker) -> Settler
Pamplona (Blacksmith) -> Horse
Vitoria (Granary) -> Settler

Turn 1: 1131AD
Danes refuse to talk. :frown:
Cordovan Conqu kill named Cordovan Sword. Our redlined Horse runs to Santander. Valencian forces retreat to heal. Toledo Swords heal. Block one of the Danish Longships with 2 Curraghs. Move Horse to Lisbon, Sword from Leon towards Murcia.
IBT: Hah! Watch this:
Fatimids demand CoL...I tell him to ****.
But he calms down :lol:
Phew, Danish ships return home since I block the Sea, seem to be Settlers, not Berserks
Santiago (Horse) -> Sword
Navarre (Blacksmith) -> Sword
Salamanca (Blacksmith) -> Spear
Lisbon (Blacksmith) -> Horse

Turn 2: 1134AD
Cordo Conqu kill Vet Spear and Vet Sword at Toledo.
Healing, repositining.
IBT: Grr...Theodora demands 20gp, NEVER! anger the Byzantines when you live at the Mediterranean Sea, Dromons are mereciless killers – and we need peace for the map trading anyway.
Leon (Sword) -> Horse
Barcelona (Blacksmith) -> Sword
Santander (Barracks) -> Spear
Jaen (Temple) -> Granary

Turn 3: 1137AD
Franks know CoL. Danes still won’t talk.
Iceland is explored.
IBT:
Another Cordovan Settler/ Spear combo returns
Navarre (Sword) -> Horse
Salamanca (Spear) -> Spear
Pamplona (Horse) -> Sword
Asturias (Town Hall) -> Blacksmith

Turn 4: 1140AD
Finally pillage the Cordovan Iron. I want to get a Settler to North Africa, but I have to found the city within Toledo’s borders (would be Fatimid otherwise), that’s why I didn’t capture Toledo so far.
Cadiz:
4/4 Horse vs 4/4 Spear L -4/-3, Spear promotes
Toledo Blades vs unfortified 4/4 Spear W -3/-4
4/4 Horse vs 3/3 Spear Horse redlines, retreats; no damage
No more attacks this turn. Cordova has tons of Spears left.
IBT:
England demand CoL, backs down.
Cordova drops Sword next to Seville
Leon (Horse) -> Sword
Lisbon (Horse) -> Sword
Resistance in Seville ends.

Turn 5: 1143AD
Horse from Santander kills landing party.
Horse kills Settler escort, promotes to Elite
Make peace with Danes for Castle Building.
IBT:
Cordova wants peace :lol:
Santigo (Sword) -> Horse
Navarre (Horse) -> Sword
Salamanca (Spear) -> Spear
Barcelona (Sword) -> Horse

Turn 6: 1146AD
Battle for Valencia:
4/4 Horse vs 4/4 Spear, W -1/-4, Elite
4/4 Sword vs 4/4 Spear, W -2/-4
5/5 Sword vs 3/3 Spear, W -4/-3
4/4 Sword vs 3/3 Spear, W -3/-3
4/4 Sword vs 3/3 Spear, W -3/-3
last 4/4 Sword vs 3/3 Spear, W -3/-3; 1gp, Slave; it’s size 4, good for VPs

Conquistadors kill 4/4 Spear at Toledo
2 Scientists at Valencia gives us Map Making this turn :D

IBT:
Cordova starts using Archers.
Map Making comes in.
Murcia (Settler) -> Blacksmith
Pamplona (Sword) -> Sword
Santander (Spear) -> Blacksmith

Turn 7: 1149AD
Sword kills Archer without taking a scratch. More Cordovan Settlers run home.
Now things get interesting – we do have a monopoly on MM!
The Big Map Brokering:
Bulgars: Castle Building for WM, 3gp, Contact with Turks and Magyars – see most of Eastern Europe
Celts: WM for WM – see England and part of Europe
Norway: WM for WM – Scandinavia and Mediterranean Sea
Rus: WM for WM –bad deal, not much more than their TM
Fatimids: WM for WM – their lands, S half of Abbassids
None of those had any gp
Sweden: WM for WM and 12gp – their lands and N of Siberia
Poland: WM for WM and 6gp – Germany, Poland
Magyars: TM for WM
Danes: TM for TM and 4gp
Germany: WM for WM and 20gp – Central Europe (interesting, they lack Horses!)
Now for the real players:
Turks: WM and Wines for WM and Early Siegecraft (grr...nobody knows Med Combat)
Byzantium: WM for WM, 20gp and Worker
Abbassids: WM, Contact with Bulgars, Magyars, Poles, Rus and Danes (all of those have cities near him anyway) for 950gp (!) and TM
Franks: WM for WM, 32gpt and 50gp
Burgundy: WM for WM and 120gp
Trade WM around again for 25gp (Turks), 9gp (Abbassids), 3gp +Wm (Byz), 5gp +WM (Germany).
Net bargain: 1226gp, 32gpt, Early Siegecraft, Complete map revealed :D

Important: England had nothing to offer, don’t give them WM for small cash. Map Making and most Communications not given to anybody so far.

Germany did :hammer: on the Magyars, that explains their score; no signs of combat near Byzantium :confused: , but their score is at 5670; judging from the higher than expected score of the Abbassids, those 2 most by at war since ages, without any side making progress. Linköping (on Cyprus) is Abbassid, everything else looks pretty much like expected – well, maybe besides Burgundy completely untouched.

revealed1.JPG

Research on Med Combat in 10 turns at +30gpt, start prebuild in Leon (the extra shield from working the Navarre iron gets lost, good for Navarre). I did not dare to try any stealing; judging from the Franks and Poles where we already have an embassy ‘Immediate’ is between 700 and 850, ‘Careful’ at 1250. I decide to save some more money (Domesday); next player may try a steal from England – on the other hand, we could afford 100% research atm for Western Church at 15. England, Poland and surprisingly Germany still lack CoL and Early Siege, so I prefer Med Combat for the Wonder and MDIs right now; we should have enough to trade for the later Western techs. And we still can go for Western Church at max in 10 turns.

IBT:
:eek: the Cordovan Ansar returns with its Settler, too.
Salamanca (Spear) -> Cat
Cordova (Blacksmith) -> Cat
Lisbon (Sword) -> Horse
Madrid (Blacksmith) -> Cat

Turn 8: 1152AD
Both Armies fully healed. Slay the Elite Spear at Cadiz.
Research time for MC has dropped to 8, but nobody has it yet. Trade our WM around for small change.
Madrid can make a nice 25spt, too bad there is no prebuild available.
IBT:
Cordovan Archer kills a Sword. There are now 5 Cordovan Settler combos crossing our lands :crazyeye: I’ll kill them when they’re in the open.
Navarre (Sword) -> Sword
Madrid (Cat) -> Cat
Barcelona (Horse) -> Sword

Turn 9: 1155AD
Kill a Settler combo. Kill Archer. Horse attacks another combo, but redlines and retreats.
Trade WM and Horses to Sweden for Furs. Rise Lux to 10% to get WLTKD in Leon.
IBT:
WLTKD in Leon (Palace 11 instead of 15)
Santiago (Horse) -> Horse
Salamanca (Cat) -> Cat
Cordova (Cat) -> Spear
Madrid (Cat) -> Cat
Seville (Temple) -> Blacksmith
Pamplona (Sword) -> Sword (needed for those Settler escorts, no more Swords after that)
Vitoria (Settler) -> Temple

Turn 10: 1158AD
2 more Slaves. Kill 2 Spears on each of the 2 cities left.

land.jpg

Notes:
African Settler in position, found exactly there. Why am I so obsessive with a city there? Because it is a Curragh move away from Toledo and Santander. We can ferry enough troops over to start on the Fatimids within less than 10 turns. Delare, move in take 2 good cities next turn.
Should be easily enough troops to take Toledo and Cariz, but settle first! Use Cats to hit the Ansar – he’s on escort duty, and will not attack.
Cadiz: Get the Slaves first. And don’t forget to use an elite Sword for the King – maybe it’s a myth, but I’ve heard and seen repeatedly how often this gives a Leaders. Resettle Cadiz one tile NW at the river looks good
And I for one would not steal Western Church, seems too risky, and I don’t want to lose the money.

Well, crap. It's about to finally be time for me to :hammer: someone in this game, and I have to go out of town.

If I'm up between Friday and Monday, go ahead and skip me or switch me with someone.

Good work, Doc!

Well done, Doc.

Will pick up and play tonight.

Got it.

News tomorrow.

Castille 1188

T1 1161
Build Logorno in N Africa
Cat and horseman combine to eliminate Cordoban archer outside Santander. Horse -1hp
Manuever swords and cats in mountains above Barcelona to force Ansar, spears and settlers into plain.

Seige of Toledo
Cat takes 1hp off defending spear. Horseman slays spear -1hp.
Vet sword assaults city slays another spear -1hp.

Battle for Cadiz awaits capture of settler teams in mountains.

Peddle maps around and pick up another 60g.

Abassids will offer 473g and 55gpt for Map Making. Take the deal and crank up the science. Nobody else in the map has anything to offer for it. Will use proceeds to open an embassy with new neighbors and fund science.

Research on MC drops to four with extra 28gpt.

Embassy with our new neighbors the Fatimids:
Tripoli is pop6. 11spt building wealth, 14fpt, 17gpt, 40% science, 4 spears, 1 sword, caliph in garrison. Has library, marketplace, temple, granary, barracks, needs aqueduct for growth. Could steal tech safely for 1324g.

Bulgars show up demnading contact with Fatimids. Tell him to go back to his mountains. He huffs and leaves.

Franks start Bayeux Tapestry in Angers.

T2 1164
Ansar and settler move to hills NE of Barcelona. Settlers and spear move onto mountain vacated by Ansar. Elite sword slays Ansar and takes two slaves. Three swords kill spear and warrior defending 2 Cordovan settlers. We gain four slaves and lose a sword. Slaves go to work in mines.

Battle of Cadiz
Vet sword goes toe to toe against defending spear. Spear redlined, sword slain. Toledo Blades assault city walls and kill a spear. Second assault kills spear, reveqals swordsman. Blades take heavy casualties. Seige continues.

Vet sword follows up and Toledo is ours!!

Franks will sell MedCombat for 350g. Buy it. Angers will embroider tapestry in 22, Madrid will finish from scratch in 20. Palace prebuild in Leon only gets Tapestry in 24 at best. Start tapestry in Madrid and reassign many workers to mine hills.

Research goes to 0 to recover cost of MedCom buy and lux goes up to keep everybody in Madrid happy and at work.

Peddle maps again to build treasury, then open an embassy with Abassids.

Jerusalem is pop6, 8spt building assassin, 14fpt growth in 5, 15gpt 40% science, has temple, barracks, library. 8 spears, sword, Caliphm and cat in garrison. 4 luxes (spices and dyes tradeable surplus), stone, tar, iron and horses. All but stone in tradeable surplus. Immediate tech steal would cost 936g, exactly half of safe (1872).

Abassids are allied with Burgundy against Byzantines.

Paris builds Knights Templar

Turks start Tapestry.

T3 1167
Manuevering at Cadiz.
Start sealift to N Africa.
Strip the Fatimid treasury for contact with Eastern Christians.

Denmark joins the war against Byzantines , allied with Abassids.

Abassids start embroidering Bayeux Tapestry.

T4 1170
Sealift ot N Africa continues.

Battle of Cadiz
Cats sting two spears
Conquistadors assault the city and finish off spears.
Blades follow and kill sword and get another decoration for mess.
Elite sword follows and Cordova is gone, but no leader.

Poland joins the Abassids against Byzantines.

Celts come calling a request WM trade. Turn him down.

T5 1173
Found Vallidolid NW of rubble of Cadiz.

Sell some wool to the Swedes for 40g

Byzantines start Tapestry.

T6 1176
Operation Fatimid SeaLift continues.

T7 1179
More troops arrive in Logorno

Spend 112g to check progress on Tapestry in Anger. They have fallen behind, and Madrid is due to finish in 15.

Norway joins the dogpile against the Byzantines.

France complains about our dinghy but agrees to an RoP.

Germans come calling wanting maps. Turn him down.

T8 1182
Shipping troops to N Africa.

T9 1185
Shipping and mining

Build an embassy in England. Chippenham is pop6, 14fpt, 12spt building swordsman, 14gpt, 40% science. Has barracks, temple, marketplace, town hall. Lots of troops in garrison. Can steal tech safely for 1406g

T10 1188
Shipping mining and roading

Notes:
Invasion force at Logorno is building. Extra dinghy available on interturn.

Swedes and Norway have colonies in N Africa. One on coast, one in mountains. Invasion force should strike west and east concurrently. Swedes could protect our flank in one direction, Norway in the other if we want allies. We have the money to buy them in, if needed or wanted.

Tapestry in Madrid is due in 13, IIRC. I completely forgot about the Palace prebuilding in Leon. We may end up with very expensive MDI :spank: :blush: Western Church research should finish in 6. Won't have any trade opportunities from it but it will open that tree for us to trade or steal up to knights.

Trade opportunities limited by relative poverty of neighbors. Abassid 55gpt deal has 10 turns to run.

Blacksmith equipped cities are training and equipping MDI every 3-4 turns and they are arriving at the loadpoint at Toledo JIT to board the curraghs for the N Africa beachhead. Once the cats get across the inivasion of the Caliphate could start.

Treasury stands at 1800+. and growing.

Well played, Bede. Think we should start the war with a stealing attempt - if we succeed, fine; if not, who cares? Any idea if the Fatimids already have Ansars? If not, that would really great...

Regarding the Palace prebuild :smoke: -can we somehow keep the shields for a 3rd era wonder (IIRC the Bach's equivalent comes with an opening tech)? Otherwise, switch better now than later.

One thing that can really cause problems is the Byz - Abbassid war, they'll rack up VPs. Pretty sure we'll need to continue the crusade until we reach Jerusalem ;)

Another thing I'd like to point out again - there's an Ivory hiding under the Mini map (use DEL), would be good if could secure that.

Hah! Back just in time!

Pre-turn:

Trade Wool to the Turks for 20 g + 10 gpt.
Trade Early Siegecraft to Sweden for Viking Sagas +13 g. Change Lisbon from MDI to Norse Saga, due in 29. (Too bad Leon can't switch.)

1191 AD (1) Toledo Curragh->Temple. Asutrias Blacksmith->Barracks. Jaen Granary->Blacksmith.

Load some stuff. Unload some other stuff.

Reconfigure Leon. Unfortunately, we have to give up the gold nearby in order to delay the Palace to in 23, which is also *exactly* the shortest amount of time to research Western Church *and* Theology. The good news is, that means Notre Dame is ours. The bad news is, we probably won't get Seamanship.

1194 AD (2) Cordoba MDI->MDI. Valencia Barracks->Blacksmith. Santander Blacksmith->Town Hall.

Rus begin Bayeux.

Continue loading. Cats will be in position to begin the war next turn.

IBT: Norway asks to exchange maps. We smile politely and show them the door. They seem a bit drunk.

1197 AD (3) Valladolid Barracks->Temple. Barcelona MDI->MDI. Pamplona MDI->MDI.

Okay, we're pretty ready for war. And with the game half over, we better get cracking.

For 702 gold, make an Immediate steal from the Fatamids. As a result, we get Arab Learning and no war. Okay, well, then, I guess we'll just declare war on them.

Hurry the Temple in Logrondo.

1200 AD (4) Santiago MDI->MDI. Navarre MDI->MDI. Salamanca MDI->MDI. Vitoria Barracks->MDI. Asturias Barracks->MDI. Logrono Temple->Barracks.

Bombarding Aswan does little good. Lose an Elite Sword, but manage to take the city after killing 2 spear and an Ansar. A curragh inside is destroyed. Begin working on a Temple.

Given that we can now build Libraries- and we have a *lot* of 3rd age techs that could help us- I switch Salamanca, Cordoba, Navarre, Santiago and Asturias over to Libaries.

Viking Sagas convinces Norway to give us 2 workers, 4 gold, and an MA against Fatimid. Sweden wants Wines, MC, and MM, so we pass.

IBT: Ansar shows up, kills a Swordsman headed for Fayyum. If the Fatimids weren't already in a GA, they are now.

1203 AD (5) No builds. Move our own SoD into position against Fayyum.

IBT: Massive Ansar attack against Logrono and our SoD kills 3 of their Ansars and one of their Swordsmen, and 2 of our Swordsmen, 1 of our Horsemen, and 1 of our Spearmen.

France joins the war against the Byzantines.

1203 AD (6) We discover Western Church. Continue to work on Theology so that Leon's work is not wasted.

Barcelona MDI->MDI.

Trade MM, Early Siegecraft, TM, and 9 gpt to Burgundy for Monasticism. Trade Early Siegecraft to Germany for 189 gold + WM, and then turn around and trade him Code of Laws, Medival Combat, Horses, 26 gpt, WM, and 410 gold for Feudalism.

Sell WM to various sources for 11 gold. Sell Quarry to Turks for 7 gpt and 19 gold.

We are now at 881 gold, +1 gpt. We can't upgrade horses yet because we're broke, but I can turn all MDI production into Knight production.

As if to apologize for the incompetence against Aswan, nearly every shot against Fayyum hits. It is taken with no losses, and starts work on a Temple. Lose 1 MDI in taking out the other 3 Ansars that attacked Logrono.

Unfortunately, this is taking longer than I thought. I should have the time to finish up the next 4 turns tomorrow night. The good news is that we're at 6625 VP; the bad news is that Abbasids still lead with 9925.

Excellent turns, Corrado!
Sounds like from now on, we'll :hammer: heatens until the end :D

Re: VPs - I'm not so worried about the Abbassids, they are usually eliminated even by the AI Fatimids; their initial/mid-game lead is mostly because of the location. They especially tend to never capture any bigger cities - but Byzantium can, and they have quite a lot VPs already, too.

Re: Seafaring - Guess our shuttle service works, but getting Harbors would also elimiate the risk of breaking trades, so this clearly is the next tech to research.

Tactical hint: Looks like Fatimids have no Assassins so far - if they start using them, build some cheap Archers and use them as lightning rods; combined with Cats in the stack, that works great :D.

In general, I think from now on we don't need a kind of restricting 'plan' anymore, it's pretty much pure fun - that is, if you consider warfare fun ;) .
