I'm quite sure that everyone on here has played a variety of this game at one point or another.

The basic object of the game is to eliminate people by striking them with a ball, but there are lots of variations.

At my high school, we play a variation of dodgeball that we refer to as "coneball".

In coneball, there are two teams on opposite sides of a basketball court. There are also 3 plastic cones arranged a little further up from the baseline. The balls are arranged in the middle at the start.

The teams can win by eliminating everyone, by knocking all three cones over, or by making a basket with a certain ball (usually orange colored). The teams cannot cross the center line. If a team member is out, they can get back in if someone on the other team hits the back board on the opposite side. Either that, or if someone catches a ball thrown at them, the person who threw it is out, and a teammate of the person who caught it is in.

A very fun game.

Well after seeing the movie we played it movie rules style at my school and it was awesome!!! work however meant that numbers gradually slipped but was still fun while it lasted.

We played a similar game in middle school, except it was with bowling pins and there was no basket-making/rejoining. It was everyone's favorite PE game.

We played a variation called "Murderball." 15 kids to a side. Played the full length of the gym. 8 balls. You could go wherever you wanted. It was complete chaos, but it was awesome.
