Yes, I am using the Hitpoints download site, too. (Lord knows that was confusing....) Hopefully mine will not be corrupt when it finishes.....

I used the Hitpoints download as well... corrupt for me. Good six hours of computing time wasted with my slow connection.

However, d2d now has a download button rather than preorder, if you aren't too far into the other download...

Got mine at Gamestop in Chicago. About 12:20pm. They only received 3 copies....luckily I had reserved it.

Can you download and use the 3.02 BtS patch from Firaxis? Or do you need to get it from D2D?

You definitely need to get patches for the D2D games from them. But the installer that I just downloaded, but haven't run yet, said v3.02 in the name.

For D2D, they supposedly reconfigure each game with the newest patch as they come out, so if the patching fails, you can always uninstall and redownload once they patch. Many of the games they sell are past their prime, so patches usually aren't a problem.

Was annoyed that D2D didn't have the download up this morning, but its working now. The Download Manager is the best selling point of the D2D/Fileplanet deal, as I get the maximum kb/s of the connection, plus I can interrupt and re-continue a download at will.

I've yet that to happen to one thing I've downloaded from them or file planet though. Using their Download Manager?

Their server must be busy too, only 250kb/s ... 1h 45m to go...

Actually, Hitpoints worked just fine. In fact, to tempt fate, I downloaded it at work, on the notoriously rickety wireless connection on my laptop (connection was lost at least three times,) then, when I got home, I transferred the zip file from my work laptop to my home computer via a LaCie 80GB pocket HDD. Everything worked fine, to my great surprise. So, I've been playing it ever since dinner... And my version was, indeed, 3.02, so I suppose that means that we don't have to worry about patching.

Yawn. Oh well, I guess I should go to sleep now.

I'd happily swap BTS for some good weather and a few days on a beach in Hawaii.

The weather here in Scotland sucks. In fact, we've not had a summer thus far and it's past the halfway point.

D2D gives you an already patched version. In the product info section it shows that you download version 3.02

Or, it's just their standard response to everyone. Call your gamestop store again (pretending that you haven't gotten it yet) and ask if they have any unreserved copies in stock.

True, that could be their way of trying to get you to reserve stuff... They did ask me if I wanted to reserve anything else (Starcraft 2, etc.)
