Both when you start it from Steam till the Main Menu, and when you load a game.

Also menus are extremely slow. It takes no less than 5 minutes to save a game from the in-game menu.

Sounds like a problem on your end. 5 minutes to save the game sounds like a very slow computer. I have a friend with an older PC, which was fairly new at the release of Civ 6. Today it's a potato when we play together. Usually I'm finished loading and taken my first turn while he still loads the game.

Other games are fine. And as I said, Civ6 in-game is fine. It's the menus that are unbelievably slow. They weren't like this before.

Maybe "verify integrity of game files" via Steam? Right click VI on left menu / Properties / Installed Files

Otherwise backup any Saves you want and reinstall?

I noticed a big difference when I went from 8gb to 64gb of system ram. Was a new system but more ram with all the things that are using it on a windows system seemed to help a lot.

Just started Civ6 first time since January, and i was asking myself if Civ6 is slower now or my memory is wrong, and it was always like that? I started it as DX12, it‘s a fresh install… 🤔

Was the reinstall the solution for you?

No, it's been an issue before the reinstallation. It was definitely never like this before. Back when I was making a few little mods not so very long ago, I would exit and restart the game constantly to check for changes, and it was as smooth as a banana peel on a polished floor. Now it's a chore to start a game even once

So if i understand correctly, then the reinstall has not solved it. 🤔 No idea what could be wrong, unfortunately.
