Does everyone know that once you have a spy planted, you'll know exactly how many troops the other civs have. Don't bash me if you already know.

Don't worry lz14 the mods run a pretty tight ship here and if anyone bashes anyone it's an instant ban, tha't s probably why there are 25,000 + posters out here, but Sabbaman is right you should take the time to read through the FAQ on this site and the newbie thread, I do all the time and I'm always finding out new things. There is also alot of good tips in the strategy thread.

Its very useful for finding out how much stuff they got and wondering why they can make more mech infantry when I *think* they dont have any more rubber.

This is the only use of a spy that I use with any frequency. Most of the other spy missions are too costly with too small of a chance for success. I have used some of the others from time to time but mostly they are not worth it.
